I decided to try CM7 after sticking with CM10 for a while, and its been awsome! It's been great to get such speed back!

Seriously:

YES EVERYONE has the first picture bug.

NO there doesn't seem to be a kernel that fixes it.

Well there was another CM7.2 kernel (muppetkernel: here) That I think doesn't have the first picture bug - but it has trouble recording video last time I tested it.

Also: why is this SUCH a big issue for you? I don't reboot my phone after every picture I've taken so it's a one time thing, then it just works!

i can confirm this when night i try to take some pic then after i closed camera then leave for that night i noticed that 50% of my battery drain

Well there was another CM7.2 kernel (muppetkernel: here) That I think doesn't have the first picture bug - but it has trouble recording video last time I tested it.

Yes, my kernel has problems with recording video - I wouldn't recommend it anymore - I have since sold my Xperia Ray so aren't working on it anymore.

It doesn't fix the first picture bug either - this is some sort of userspace issue, not kernel space.

Sorry Icethor, I think this rom cm7.2 is not developed anymore.

If you can live with the remaining bugs, it's an alternative ROM that you can maybe use...if you have a strong battery.

I will give it a peek today, and I think I better pm you my opinion

the first picture bug disappears after flashing the kernel from official cm-7.2.0-urushi, you can download the ROM from the official site and extract the boot.img from it, or just download the kernel from the attachment.

No camera bug with original kernel ? Are you using CM 7.2 right now ? Just curious.
I found CM 7.2 very fast, and only missed the xloud, so i barely had audio on youtube. I tried all xloud bin's/tricks , but never got it to work on CM 7.2

Yes, I am using FreeXperia Project cm-7-20131222-FXP-urushi with the kernel from official cm-7.2.0-urushi, and there is NO camera bug. It is the fastest ROM for Ray.

Nice to read that you use it....any remaining bugs you know of ? Battery drain ?

Do you have no issues with the sound being very low, or do you never watch youtube ?
I remember this rom to be very smooth/fast, also on gaming )

Maybe I install again for fun, as the Ray is now my spare phone....just get the feeling back of CM 7.2

- CyanogenMod brightness Issue, fixed by flashing this
- I see no other issues, including low sound or outstanding battery drain. What concerns to YouTube, I didn`t ever use the Ray for watching any video. Mostly for conversation, communication, GPS navigation + car DVR.

This rom had wifi tethering buggy... in the first time is working, on several minute later.. wifi tethering kind'a buggy

No wifi tethering issue for me and also no camera bug. I use the official release with its kernel.

This rom earns to not be forgotten.
Plenty of free ram and games run smooth.
