Unlocked bootloader in 4.4.4 kitkat then moved to crdroid ROM and from it to CM12 and other ROMs based on 5.0.2 ( not faced any issues on them). Now in case I want to return to stock 4.4.4 (I have full back up of it) if I restore through philz recovery it will work? Or I need to follow the steps mentioned in various threads?

CM12 on the 41.18 bootloader is failing with Status Code 7. I absolutely cannot no matter what, flash directly to CM12. I can flash to CM11 nightly, however I get the lovely screen bug. Trying to upgrade to CM12 from CM11 on 41.18 bootloader gives me a softbrick. I must then flash to the 5.0.2 GPE lollipop or flash CM11 or a 4.4.4 rom, I am told doing so however when including motoboot.img or gpt.bin WILL result in a hard brick, and Flashing back to 4.4.3 or below will also result in a brick. I am told If you have gone to GPE, then to lollipop, you must NEVER flash the motoboot or gpt, even when going to stock. Am I limited to those choices we get 41.18 support in CM12? Im not quite understanding this, as cm11 works just fine other than screen bug with my 41.18 bootloader.

And to be clear I have an XT1034 converted into a GPE and then upgrading OTA to 5.0 with the 41.18 bootloader.

I have tried all recoveries, and no love. I get Status 7 on installing CM12, when upgrading or installing fresh.
I am facing the same issue and searching through official CM thread shows that there are others as well....
SlimLP fails, official CM nightlies fails BUT Team UB Rom (latest 26/1/2015) just installs fine, can anybody explain?

I think this should be mentioned more clearly in FAQ or install section of official CM thread that you cant install certain Roms with certain versions of bootloader - no matter what recovery you use.

:edit
solved by flashing gbt.bin - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58477768&postcount=122

Q1: How do i Install CM12?
I suggest that the first question in the FAQ should be device support - here's a suggested text:

Q1: Which Moto G variants are working on CM12?
Nightly releases on official CM12 are reported working on XT1032, XT1033 and XT1034 and GPE XT1032.
The XT1028/XT1031 (non-LTE 3G CDMA) are not able to get data, calls and SMS

I've definitely seen an improvement using the 2015-01-28 build stacked with BlueFlame4's app. Multitasking is improved and most of my issues were related to Facebook's RAM hogging. It would be nice to see this develop to a point that I can switch out of facebook and switch back exactly where I left off, but the fact I can switch to answer text messages quickly is a definite plus

Kudos to BlueFlame4

CyanogenMod 12 WiFi hotspot

I recently found out I could get my WiFi hotspot working in CyanogenMod 12, on my Moto G 4G XT1039. All I had to do was add ,dun to the end of the APN type field, in my carrier APN settings. I hope this helps someone :) It may not but thought I'd mention it just in case.

wifi on latest nighlty?

Hi,
I freshly installed the latest nightly yesterday, coming from stock with bootloader unlocked.
Did have a problem with bootloop at first install, but I changed the Gapps version and wiped the internal SD to make it work.

The ROM is superb, but I can't seem to make wifi work. It is in "wifi activation" and stays stuck, with no way to do anything about it.
Does it happen to anyone else, and is there a solution to make it work?

Thank you very much in advance.

Hey guys,
I clean flashed CM 12 on my Moto G XT1033 (converted to GPE)(29/01 Nightly), the problem I face is that I cannot send/receive SMS messages.
Also how do I remove the dual SIM icon?
Kernel- CM 12 kernel with faux's patches and a working camera.
Please help.

Sound goes down on its own.

My sound is acting up. I'm on 1-31 nightly and audio anything turns down the volume on its own. Though when I look the slider is in the same position as I put it. I turn it up or down to recognize it needs to play louder.

Exactly the same problem here. I can call out as well as receive, however I cannot send or receive sms.

XT1033, upgraded from cm11 > cm12 falcon (31/01 nightly) using TWRP 2.8.1. Gapps mini modular package from PA link following the guide on the official CM12 Falcon thread.

Sim card has been tested to send and receive fine in another phone.

MMS is working fine and all APN settings have been double checked.

I've tried using the *#*#4635#*#* menu to see if the SMSC number was the problem. Confirmed it was correct.

I tried flashing using CWM as well with the same result. Also tried again with TWRP, this time formatted data too.

It looks like this problem has occurred for a couple of XT1033 owners upgrading to CM12 but Im not sure if anybody has worked out a solution?? If anyone has any troubleshooting ideas, suggestions etc... Thanks in advance. :fingers-crossed:

EDIT > Not really the right place, was mentioned by a couple of others in this thread though so I thought I would chip in. Still haven't sorted it.

[SOLVED] stuck at boot on XT1039 (peregrine)

Hi,

I am trying to install CM12 (download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=peregrine) on my Moto G 4G (XT1039). I followed the instruction on the wiki page (wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_peregrine). I also did a few extra steps suggested here and there like formatting /system and such. Unfortunately all I get is a nice splash screen flashing for hours.

I'd like to provide as much debug information as possible but as an Andorid noob I don't know where to look for them and how to get them without a working adb on CM (it works on cwmr, so probably I could pull some logs).

@Somcom3X: thank you very much for your work on CM for my device.

Solved:
@arie001 Made my day with his post. I formatted /sdcard (ClockworkMod Recovery: mounts and storageformat /data and /data/media (/sdcard)). Note: I've got a brand new device and this is the first time I flash CM.

Hi, witch recovery are you using to flash CM12? I tried a lot and i'm getting bootloops (i alredy tried everything, except rollbacking to kk)
I used Philz Recovery, but I guess all recoveries work. You should format /system, /data and /cache before flashing the ROM. Also try formatting your USB storage before flashing if formatting the partitions mentioned before cause a bootloop. Take a backup of everything using a USB OTG or try an adb backup.

Bluetooth Audio streaming problem

Hello, I'm french so excuse my poor english.

I have problems with my cm-12-20150130-NIGHTLY when I play music through bluetooth to my UE BOOM. Sometimes it works without any problems, sometimes the music player (cyanogen or google music) plays less than one seconde of music and then stop. No more music in my UE BOOM. I had to reboot the phone to solve the problem. No connection problem just music streaming.

I have also installed CM12 on my NEXUS 7 (flo) and there are no problems with bluetooth audio.

related post on this tread (post #59) with logcat

No solutions in new nightlies :crying:

browser choices not remembered

Hi All,

Running CM12 2015-01-30 nightly.
Problem persists in all builds I have run.

Using Falcan Pro or pushbullet (any app that shows a link)
I get prompted: Open with Chrome
Just Once Always

(I have firefox, stock browser and lastpass all installed)

I select always but this action is never persisted.
Next time I open a link I need to make same selection.

Anyone else having this issue, any thoughts on how to resolve?

Thanks in advance
