Also worth noting that on some GNU/Linux systems, fastboot can be installed through the repositories provided (android-tools-fastboot on Ubuntu).
It plays video, so it should play musicIt is more a general question. Can we play music from usb otg on the moto g?
Thanks for every answer.
Yep. Fastboot from AUR is another example. But then again, linux people will know. Also worth noting that on some GNU/Linux systems, fastboot can be installed through the repositories provided (android-tools-fastboot on Ubuntu).

No, you're not at all, the power button is loose in that way. On my Motorola G, however, so are the volume buttons.Am I the only one whose Motorola G has a loose power button? It's not that big of a deal, but it makes a hollow noise if I shake the phone slightly. The volume buttons are fine though.
Am I just being paranoid?
ok, i don't have much time to work on making an entry, butAny chance of a FAQ entry regarding Charging, considering the Moto G only comes with a USB lead. There are already a few posts regarding this.
I noticed on my Windows XP system I had to install the drivers (Motorola Device Manager) before the phone would charge. I also found that the official lead works with PC or wall-charger, but another lead I have only works with a wall-charger.
On an Ubuntu laptop, I didn't need to install anything for charging to work.
I believe you can get tools designed for cutting sims, which should make it easier. I don't think all sims can be cut in this way, however.I know there´s a way to make a custom "haircut" - there´s plenty of how-tos on the web but I´m a little bit afraid of screwing it up. Has anybody any experience with that?
(I know I can ask my carrier for replacement but I suspect them to charge me a fair amount of money for that and then leave me waiting for a couple of days)
In my experience the micro sim card is ready right away at the store, you just have to wait up to 24h to get it activated by the operator, when i was getting mine it was activated in 20 min with no charge (i'm from croatia but i think this is the standard prosidure in the EU) best to go to your local operator store and ask :good:Unfortunately, I am short of time at the moment, so I will put off the unlocking and rooting till tomorrow. What I can say now at least is that my German retail v. came with a USB cable AND a 1000mA wall charger. After pluging in, Android boots right away (this has been said on the forum, only confirming) and there´s no problem with charging either on the wall charger or on the desktop (linux here).
Oh, and I´ve got a standard SIM and we need a micro one. I know there´s a way to make a custom "haircut" - there´s plenty of how-tos on the web but I´m a little bit afraid of screwing it up. Has anybody any experience with that?

Thats completely BS... See attachment, you can click the right lower button to access advanced Wifi.Q: Missing Menu Button on Navigation Bar?
Some options are inaccessible on the Moto G running Android 4.3.
For example:
Settings > Wifi > Advanced:
Are you using some sort of alternative framework as there is no carrier in status bar and the battery is modded?Well, it's the reality for me and I assume anyone else running System version: 14.71.8.falcon_umts.Retail.en.GB
