@matmutant. a new FAQ entry suggestion.

Q: I flashed a ROM and GPS has stopped working?
A: Flash this 'no-GPS' fix zip via custom recovery. Alternatively, enter Fastboot mode and type the following commands:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
Done sir! (BTW i really prefer the fastboot command other the noob-friendly zip flashing [that has some advantages, right])

Just installed it via playstore.
It should work on vlc though. Maybe there is something wrong in your installation. Try clean install of the rom.
Note: dont install apps from unknown sources if you dont want to got problem.

Clean mean wipe data/factory reset. It doesnt have to wipe internal storage though.
Have you tried another rom? Or updating your rom? How is the video?

xt1034, no reception

I have a xt1034 and no reception with working sim card (working on Nexus 4). I have tried various ROMS, GPE, Bliss, Stock etc. I also tried another SIM from stock xt1034 (never flashed). I have reflashed the radio again to be xt1034 based on the other threads on XDA. Also lots of factory resets.

There is no reception, and I can't add any APN. If try to create an APN, it doesn't appear on the list. The APN list is always empty for all the ROMs I've used. Scanning for networks brings up ATT and TMobile, but I can't connect to either one. My SIM is for TMobile and works in my Nexus4.

Any thoughts on what I should try to get reception working? I have tried reflashing to Stock xt1034 ROM, reflashed various radio, even tried GPE again, but nothing seems to bring reception back.

Hello,

Is it normal that "Trusted Face" doesn't appear in smart lock ? I am on CM12.1 nightly (05-18-15) and I have the 7.3.29 version of Google Play Services.

Thank you

Stuck on TWRP screen

I rooted my Moto g- XT1033 & installed a custom recovery (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-falcon_umts.img). Before installing CyanogenMod 12.1, I took a back up of original ROM & when it was completed, the phone fails to reboot. Thereafter, every time I try to reboot it, it shows the unlocked bootloader warning again & again & fails to reboot. I can reboot into fastboot mode but upon selecting "Normal Powerup" the same thing happens again & again. While upon selecting recovery mode, it gets stuck at initial logo screen of TWRP where it is written TEAMWIN.
Upon connecting phone using USB in fastboot mode, the command 'fastboot devices' do return a no.
Please help. I am stuck.

google 5.0.16.19.arm

Hi, has anyone updated Google to 5.0.16.19.arm (Android m preview) version? I have a xt1033 and I wonder if it'd be safe/bugfree to update my Google app. I read here and there that "OK Google" might not work after the update, but it was for different devices

Update: I couldn't wait and I updated it to 5.0.16.19, OK Google wouldn't work, and overall performance of the device has decreased, should wait for an official update from Google play,

Unable to relock bootloader

Hello,

I have my bootloader unlocked on my XT1034 that I'm using on T-Mobile. It's stock with the bootloader unlocked and has never been rooted. It's recognized in "fastboot devices" but when I run "fastboot oem lock" it gives me an error but then says OK so even when running "fastboot oem lock begin" it doesn't throw an error but it still doesn't lock it.

C:\android-sdk-windows\tools>fastboot devices
TA880009PQ fastboot

C:\android-sdk-windows\tools>fastboot oem lock
... INFOFAIL: Please run fastboot oem lock begin first!
INFOsst lock failure!
OKAY

C:\android-sdk-windows\tools>fastboot oem lock begin
... INFOReady to flash signed images
OKAY

Rebel Sahil:
Fastboot should work in your case. Check your drivers/cable.
Also you may want to try this:
1. Find a stock factory image for your phone.
2. Install RSD Lite
3. While phone in fastboot and USB-connected to your PC RSD lite should see your phone as S flash or something similar
4. Flash factory image
You should be able to boot into stock ROM.

There must be another way...

I am also having the same issue. I am currently running CM12.1 Oct 5th nightly with TWRP for recovery and I do not want to restore the original firmware for my XT1034 (Wind Mobile - Canada). I just want to lock the bootloader for security reasons... Having the bootloader unlocked is like an open door, no? What happens if someone loses their phone? All of their local data can be copied to a computer from recovery. Is there no way to lock the bootloader for the Moto G without having to restore the original factory images from Motorola? There must be a way...

I have been searching for an answer to this for hours only to find that the only apparent resolution to lock the bootloader is to restore all of the Motorola factory images, which is what I definitely do not want to do... :(

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I have the same issue here... I don't want to restore the factory Motorola firmware just to lock the bootloader... I don't want to be walking around with an unlocked bootloader either... I am running CM12.1 Oct 5th nightly with TWRP. I have looked everywhere for a solution to lock the bootloader on the XT1034 with a custom ROM installed, but after hours of searching, I keep seeing the same "restore Motorola factory image" solutions. There has to be a way to lock this friggin bootloader with Cyanogen installed...

Please let me know if you find anything out.

Thanks!
