I decided 3 weeks ago to trade in my n7 for a s7 e but i will not receive for almost 45 days.. in I'm using a Verizon note 7 with a prepaid tmobile service.. Will the update still be pushed to my phone?

Why would you do that now? The S7e is almost a year old. Disable OTA's (there are still ways), hang tight with your N7 and wait until the S8 is out. Or if you have your previous phone still, use that as a last resort. I wouldn't trade for a device that is almost a year old at this point. I the S7e is nice, but will seem dated very soon.

I called samsung back and they told me instead of waiting 45 days I could let them HOLD $945 ON MY card.. i send back my note 7 and have my refund check in a week... with 945 I can buy 2 s7s .. has anyone used this avenue?? I see alot of people getting refunds it's taking forever..

In agreement here on the self risk factor. That voluntary recall means it's voluntary for Samsung though, i.e. they haven't been forced by some government body to recall it and they're doing it on their own terms I'm guessing. Which is massively annoying on so many levels.
