And do you know if I am getting the acual LG G4 from US Cellular, or a Rent-A-Center model, which has disabled OTA?

Yes it steps down to 3G or 2G while making or receiving call on LTE.

I don't know. I guess US CELLULAR model should show US CELLULAR logo when booting and battery cover should have their logo too.

I picked up an unlocked US991 but didn't realize that it was a carrier specific model for US CELLULAR, losing WiFi calling coming from g3 sucks, might actually return. ..unless can find a way to port TMo rom or enable WiFi calling .

I got it with Marshmallow pre-installed but don't see US CELLULAR logo on boot.

Hi
I read that you are able to use 4G LTE ON LG G4 US991 on gsm network. Is the network T-Mobile or other? Ialso bought this same device and using it with T-Mobile, but I am not getting 4G LTE signal, only getting 3g and text/talk. Can you tell me the apn settings and the android version you are using?
Thanks

The US Cellular Version Should work on LTE on Tmobile since it supports band 2, 4 and 12 (VOLTE wont work). I dont know if the other US991 model supports those bands but I guess it does. You have to set it to Global mode in order to get LTE. GSM/UMTS mode, only support 2G/3G. I was using it oversea so I guess the Tmobile LTE APN is the one that beging with fast-.

G4 straight talk issue

I have my Factory unlocked LG G4 from Amazon (The us cellular version) with straight talks GSM SIM card and I can only have H data that works why sending texts and recieveing them. When I switch to the LTE part of my phone I can only use data I can't text or make calls. Is there any way to fix this?

Can anyone confirm if the US991 from US Cellular running 22A has access to fastboot? Type adb reboot bootloader to see if you get to the unlock.bin instructions.

My unbranded version updated to 21A and it gave me fastboot.

No, just fastboot works now. Meaning if someone cracks the unlock.bin this phone can be bootloader unlocked. It also means LG might intend to allow bootloader unlocking.

Understood thanks. Were you the member with the firmware file 21a for unbranded US991? If so do you still have the file available for sharing?

I have the file, but it is unfortunately not the unbranded version after testing. I am getting my phone back tomorrow which should be on 20A again. I'm going to make sure I get the file somehow before I let it install.

I just bought an unlocked LG G4 US991 a few days ago on eBay (absolutely mint...I cannot tell it has ever been used) that is blacklisted by USCC (I knew it is was blacklisted); it was bought to use as the 5th line on a Cricket plan - which works great...as does T-Mobile). It arrived today. Info = security level to June 1, 2016; kernel 3.10.84; build # MRA58K; software version US99121a sub SW version 02. Oops, Android 6.0.

For giggles I tried my Verizon postpaid sim card in it, since it has the applicable radio support. 3G/voice/SMS/MMS work fine, but I cannot get the device to save an APN. Is there something simple I am forgetting or not doing to be able to add a Verizon APN?

After some toying around in the service menus (*#546368#*991# and ##PROGRAM991), voila, 4G LTE on Verizon with a $51 LG G4. Now, to get rid of the dang triangle roaming icon next to the 3G/LTE/WiFi icon (unless it means something else now). I know 100% it is not roaming.
