So it all went well, and my p9 is now running oreo. But when i click on the playstore it does not open?

What have i done wrong?
You installed b535?
Did you apply network patch, did you root, are they ok?

You can try by manually updating Playstore, find the APK at
https://mega.nz/#F!JwkVyRya!Rb7OUE0z3PEpXBRxGOM-vQ

Before, open Settings / Apps / Show System Processes, find Google Playstore and Google Play Services, Google Services Framework, open Storage and Clear Data/Cache

Yes i installed b535.
Did you apply network patch (i did), did you root (no), are they ok?

You can try by manually updating Playstore, find the APK at
https://mega.nz/#F!JwkVyRya!Rb7OUE0z3PEpXBRxGOM-vQ (still the same after manually updating playstore)

Before, open Settings / Apps / Show System Processes, find Google Playstore and Google Play Services, Google Services Framework, open Storage and Clear Data/Cache (tried this first, no difference)

Playstore seems to hang in background.

Were you able to add Google account in Settings/Accounts or it similarly hangs out there?

Once I had such/similar issue (could not add Google account in Settings, could not open Playstorre) but it happened when I was trying to restore things upon coming back to stock Oreo from Open Kirin.
It was solved by rebooting to eRecovery and taking Reinstall latest (b535), followed by Factory Reeet and Wiping Cache.

I can't add a Google account either, what should I try?
As suggested in the previous post, use eRecovery to reinstall b535:

- Prepare to have a good WiFi connection for Internet, use it from the System to save its password

- Switch off, connect to the charger, press and keep pressing Vol+.
Boot by Pow button

- It will boot to eRecovery, giving you options (top to down): Reinstalling the latest firmware, Wipe data & Factory reset, Reboot, Shut Down
(Options listed and screenshot attached, just in case it boots to you to eRecovery in Chinese)

- Choose to Reinstall latest: It will automatically connect to the saved WiFi and will start to download and reinstall b535

- Follow by Wipe data and Factory reset

- You may reboot then to EMUI Recovery to Wipe Cache, but IMO it is not necessary, reainstallation from the previous step should have wiped the cache already.
(Boot to EMUI Recovery like instructed for booting to eRecovery, but now with phone NOT connected to the charger)

Reboot to System, choose language, skip WiFi, Fingerprint, Google account.

If Mobile connection will work, you won't need to apply Network patch again.

But you will have to re-aplly other patches as in OP posts.
As part of that install Playstore patch, install GBoard apk (configure it and reboot to get it working), attach to WiFi, define Google account.

If all done correctly, Playstore should be working.

Don't update MiXplorer to v6 31.4

In MiXplorer, Settings / More Settings you can enable Updates - it will opt to update MiXplorer to the recently released v6.31.4

But MiXplorer v6.31.4 does not integrate correctly with the stock Gallery app. If you open /DCIM/Camera or /Pictures/Screenshots by MiXplorer, click on a picture and choose Gallery viewer to open it:
- Delete and Share icons will be disabled
- Sliding left/right through the pictures in folder will not work

You can try (to confirm) - if you update MiXplorer, you can easily fix/downgrade:
- Uninstall MiXplorer, reboot
- Install good, old MiXplorer v6.30.21 (it was somewhere in the OP instructions but can't find in there now) from
https://mega.nz/#F!JwkVyRya!Rb7OUE0z3PEpXBRxGOM-vQ

I observed described problem only upon updating MiXplorer, tried 'everything' to fix, but no avail.
I updated MiXplorer also on another P9 with Nougat (Magic Rainbow v4) and observed the same problem there.

Upon downgrading to MiXplorer v6.30.21 (both on Oreo and Nougat) things work fine again.

b539 and b540 are not approved yet, hence no OTA yet for them
For the same reason eRecovery still pushes b535
If you don't want manually, you can wait (ETA unknown)

Btw, you could try updating through eRecovery, via FirmwareFinder, by changing DNS server address method on WiFi router (must have the latest FF version, this option was introduced by a recent FF update).
As Firmware Finder claims, this method should work for unapproved firmwares.

For AL10c00 there is only b539 OTA-MF (366 MB) available.
Probably such Differebtial update from b535 to b539 will suffice (there was not much difference between b535 and b539)

Need to have Admin access to your WiFi router, to temporarily change the DNS server address.
Follow the procedure FF will guide you - see screenshots.

Upon rebooting to eRecovery, when you select Download and install latest, eRecovery should show which firmware version it wants to download - if it is not the wanted one, downloading in eRecovery can be cancelled.
Hence, it should not be risky...

If eRecovery indeed starts downloading the proper firmware version, the rest (patching, rooting, etc) will go as for the manual update case

It will be interesting if somebody tries and describes how it works :)

Edit: I successfully tried the part with FF and the changed DNS server address on my WiFi router.
However, when I rebooted to eRecovery it reported that Update had failed - I think it was because I'm already on b540 and differential 'update' to b539 makes no sense

1. I also had problems with the Play Store not working and I used eRecovery to Download the official recovery.
2. My Network does not work for the moment, so I presume I must apply the network patch (OTA Enabled).
3. Question: Do I also need to apply these:
- VIE-EVA-AL10-Playstore+HwApps-v1.2.zip
- VIE-EVA-FaceUnlock-Oreo.zip
- VIE-EVA_b535-RECOVERY_RAMDIS.img (I want OTA)

Faceunlock is optional, the other zip files are required.
And ofc, if you enable OTA you must flash recovery_ramdisk (but it's only for b535)

What makes you sure, that the phone was really rebranded to L19 and before originally AL10?

If it really is AL10 rebranded to L19 - the steps would have been following:
1) Updating L19 to the latest approved Firmware
2) Changing location to AL10, without booting to system - changing firmware to EVA-AL10b399-Sp17a.
3) Booting to system and updating with OTA to Oreo.

There's NO Network Patch or anything else needed, if you correctly rebrand originally EVA-AL10 from EVA-L19 back to EVA-AL10!

The Guide for updating to Oreo (Post #2) is for originally EVA-L09/L19/L29 ONLY - and not for originally EVA-AL10 (rebranded to L19)!

Post #1 is for rebranding (for all included oeminfos), but if you change location you must flash the firmware for the changed location on the same Android Version - and then update with OTA.

I would expect users to ask questions in case of ambiguity BEFORE doing something that is not right - instead after.
