After spending forever trying to sell my Ouya, I finally pawned it off on some unsuspecting broker for $30. Not the best, but better than collecting dust. Now I'm looking to move on to something better. What would you guys recommend for a replacement that does both gaming and video fairly well? I'm open to anything. Thanks!

The new Razer forge looks very interesting.

Also anything with RK3288 chip looks interesting at a nice price point (£70/$100) on Amazon.
If you really want to push the boat out there are a few AW A80 tv boxes to be had on Amazon, they are coming in at around £120/$160.
Just a matter of doing some homework before you decide on which would suit your needs best.

I'm keeping an eye on the Razer Forge as well. I considered the Fire TV, but it is under-spec'd now. I'll keep my Ouya on a spare TV or something, still works great with Plex, sideloaded WatchESPN, and rooting/sideloading Google Play opened it up a bit more too.

Search eBay for an Android ADT-1 and get the best deal you can find. I just got one for $120. It's more powerful (Tegra 4, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal, USB input and Ethernet port) than the Fire TV and the Nexus Player. That Razer Forge TV does look pretty cool (great specs), but I'd hold off until you see how unofficial development goes along - if I can get one with the controller for less than $150 I'd jump on it too.

Have the ADT 1 and Mojo. The ADT1 is pretty sharp with the latest update. The Mojo is a nice box but needs a mod to get the most out of it. I am waiting for Google to get caught up with the competitors for programming? The ADT1 runs XBMC (Kodi) great best I've seen yet! The Razer Forge does not seem to offer anything over the ADT1 specs are close? Would like to see a K or X nvidia powered box??

Maybe a Alibaba Ouya 2?

I just went for the tronsmart r 28 (beelink box). Rk3288 chipset, comes pre rooted and works well with the ouya remote. Threw a custom ROM (wasser) on there and a nice blocky launcher. Kodi runs super sweet and with the ouya apks on there I can even play duck game and tower fall with the kids ;).

Sent from my SM-T310 using Forum Fiend v1.3.1.

I have the adt-1 too. Was really debating the firetv or the madcatz mojo. Those madcatz ctrlr controllers r slick.

There are not enough games out there for Android tv yet. But it definitely flies fast with ethernet.

I really hope in a few months we see more development and apps.

If you use the adt or nexus player, you'll see how easy it is to tinker. Just get on chrome browser on phone and launch Google play website. U can install es file Explorer and the rest is easy.

I do think it sucks that there's only like 20 games. Why aren't there more available?

This also makes an awesome emulator too...

There are a lot of games that work if you send them to the ADT-1 rather than search the Play Store. The main reason is likely due to there not being a ton of developer with Android TV boxes (yet). Give it a little time, they'll get on board, especially when actual Android TV's start picking up steam (and when Nvidia's console launches).
