A quick test of just adding dns.adguard.com
under More connections settings > Private DNS
seems to work pretty dame good nice share
Thanks
Interesting, no? If you want more control you can get the full paid app but this works very well.

It will also block blacklisted sites.
If needed you can just temporarily turn it off. I've been using it for about half year, I stumbled onto it by accident. Plugged it in and surprisingly it worked without the app.

From an ignorant user :
What are the implications of routing all personal and banking data via these apps ?

I am not worried about big companies using the data for ad and so on, but worried more about losing passwords and secure info.
afaik , it works just for blocking the ads ,

So we can have PoRn without the annoying banners and pop up's :sneaky:

It's not like an specfic app for other VPN stuff ( like nordvpn , ExpressVPN , etc )

Had one site that heated up the phone to 106F, it was buggy. Nothing ever does this.
That was a dirty site in more ways than one🤣
If I had been on a PC things might have ended differently. Never saw this behavior before, but none the worse except a brief cool down period after closing that tab, wiping the cache, and a reboot.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to ID how it was causing the overheat other than maybe excessive cpu cycles; not shown as associated with any app or service. Lol, popup overload🤣
Any firewall and ad blocker that runs well never hurts...

    NextDNS
$24 per year for pro sub.
It's free for the first 300K lookups which may be fine for a single user/device.
