also , the correct method I assume will be reboot to recovery after (a) method .Earlier this week I tried to update my current TWRP V 3.6.1-11 to the newer 3.6.2-11. ROM is LOS 19.1 build 20220621 (A12).
Tried two different ways:
a) from TWRP 3.6.1 flash the 3.6.2 installer zip
b) from bootloader run 'fastboot boot TWRP-3.6.2.img', then in TWRP 3.6.2 ran 'Advanced-flash current TWRP' (or whatever that is called in the english version)
in both case when I tried to reboot to system I would end up in TWRP again. Trying to run 'Advanced-Fix recovery bootloop' would invariably end up in an error reporting some problems with patching the kernel or something like that (sorry that I didn't record the exact message, it was a bit late by the time I gave up)
I could fix that by restoring the boot partition from my latest Nandroid which of course brought back TWRP 3.6.1. Of course I can easily live with the older version, I juast was hoping for some fixes esp. in the decryption range, but , well...
Question is: am I missing an important step or is this an issue that others are having as well?
