Hello,
I would like to upgrade to the latest version of MIUI. I am currently still on Android 11 and I have read that to upgrade you need to have TWRP updated but the twrp-3.7.0_12-0-vayu version does not decrypt Android 11 data.

Can I upgrade from Android 11 to Android 12 with twrp-3.6.2_11-0-vayu since it does decrypt A11 data?

Or do I need an unofficial TWRP? Thank you very much

Hi
After updating to Arrow 13.1, TWRP 3.7.0 cannot decrypt data.
I:prepdecrypt::File Based Encryption (FBE) is present. I:prepdecrypt::SETPATCH=false I:prepdecrypt::crypto.ready=1 I:prepdecrypt::Script complete. Device ready for decryption. I:Unable to decrypt metadata encryption I:FBE setup failed. Trying FDE...Updating partition details... I:checking for twrp app
Android runs normally.
How to fix it?

I updated to Arrow 13.1 (with a full wipe) under TWRP 3.7.0 with old 12.0 firmware, i see no difference from the previous 13.0 build, it decrypt everything as before.

Thanks to the excellent work of @Nebrassy it is possible to backup Android 12 and 13 encrypted X3 Pro vayu. But I miss the feature to backup work profile.

I have the LineageOS 20 derivative CrDroid 9 on my mobile that is encrypted. In order to tame an app I use work profile (user 10, activated with the app Insular). I did set a pin for the standard profile and the same pin for the work profile. TWRP 3.7.0_12-0 starts fine, asks for the pin, and gives the message that it handles fbe for user 0 and user 10:
Code:
Attempting to decrypt FBE for user 0...
User 0 Decrypted Successfully
Attempting to decrypt FBE for user 10...
User 10 Decrypted Successfully
Data successfully decrypted
Updating partition details...
But I don't find the data for user 10 so it can be backed up.

Is it necessary to mount someting manually to access decrypted user 10?

Or is it necessary to backup complete userdata partition and metadata partition using dd to be able to restore both user 0 and 10 data?

Friends, I have a poco x3 pro. Yesterday it started to get weird, crashed three times. On Wednesday, it didn't restart, it just stopped on the poco screen. They were with the original miui 14.0.3 rom. I can access fast boot, flash twrp and orange fox, but they cannot decrypt or format the partition. Asks for a lock pin. Tried to flash original rom with mi flash, problem continues. Is it a hardware problem?

    Introduction:

Team Win Recovery Project or TWRP for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It's a fully touch driven user interface , no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

    Key Features:

Touchscreen driven with real buttons and drag-to-scroll
XML-based GUI that allows full customization of the layout true theming!
Settings are saved to the sdcard and persist through reboots
Ability to choose which partitions to back up and which to restore
Ability to choose to compress backups now with pigz (multi-core processor support for faster compression times)
    Onscreen keyboard
    Easy selection of internal/external storage

In addition to the above new features, TWRP features a scripting engine that allows an app to send commands to the recovery for the recovery to perform during startup. We call this scripting engine OpenRecoveryScript. This engine will be put to use immediately in the GooManager app. GooManager will be able to install recoveries automatically for most supported devices. The app will also let you choose to install multiple zips from within Android, wipe, and run a backup.

We are looking for other talented developers, themers, and device maintainers if they are interested in helping with a free, open source project.

If you have made your own TWRP build for an unsupported device, please let us know. We might add your build to the list of unofficial builds. Bear in mind that we are working hard to add more devices and we may add your device to our official build list later.
