It will not remove root. You can update without any worries.Hi Shaky did you manage to recover your device ?
I've asked elsewhere but not got a definitive answer, will the latest ota knock our the root I applied to 4.3 ?

Damian
I havent called or emailed anyone, like NVIDIA or wherever I bought the device from regarding this issue as I have been very busy. I did have a look into nvidias early boot mode recovery (APX mode), which doesnt function correctly.Hi Shaky did you manage to recover your device ?

use the super tool root option it will root and and install recovery if you want it very easy to doHi
Sorry to ask but I need some help, I was on 4.3 rooted - used the guide here but not the supertool, did ota via settings and now have no root, tried adb reboot-bootloader (still shows unlocked) and then fastboot boot root_tn7.img and after reboot still no Super SU again...
I rebooted to recovery and get the attached 'no command' screen so guessing it wiped out my recovery as well as my root
So can anyone help me get root back, without wiping all my userdata again if possible.

Yes you are rightHi thanks but.
1. I already have that
2. Apart from that I have more than that
3. If that nvflash accesses the apxmode successfully and flashes it? Then you are a life saver
Edit: looks like to me that you have wrong files... I could be wrong... Be careful you dont flash or distribute wrong files
So you are telling me you can successfully flash your tegra note? Nope you cant, nvidia have the correct nvvflash and they aren't releasing it (I talked to someone from nvidia).Yes you are right
removed
At least I got a working apx/nvflash driver out of it and a installer
Plus I have not brick mine, like others who have
Question: when I used this method to pull boot, system, and cache, system and cache are showing identical sizes of 768MB even though I show that cache has 12.5MB used. Any way to get dd to pull just the used data instead of the whole partition? My Linux-fu is rusty but wouldHe can grab it off if he has root, yes.

Instructions for adb:
Code:adb shell su dd if=/dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/LNX of=/sdcard/boot.img exit exit adb pull /sdcard/boot.img
cp -a /system/* /sdcard/system.img
Twrp or Cwm?flipped screen partially fixed. the log is upside down, but that doesn't affect functionality.
also not tested external sd support. mass storage doesn't work (busy atm doing something for you guys)

edit: this was done for the advent vega version. I don't know if it will work on other versions.. it's one of the things I need to look into for unified builds
edit2: derp, can't mount sdcard. will look at it more later
Hi i am aware that I need to update recovery due to changes from google on certain things, Ive been abit too busy to work on this. I can maybe take a look at this tonight, thanksjust a heads up, your recovery doesn't support xattr. rebuild with the kernel in my recovery
edit: also restoring backups causes a no boot into system. now I have to fix my tablet when I get home..
