It will not remove root. You can update without any worries.

I havent called or emailed anyone, like NVIDIA or wherever I bought the device from regarding this issue as I have been very busy. I did have a look into nvidias early boot mode recovery (APX mode), which doesnt function correctly.
Cannot answer your OTA question as I'm unsure

Sorry to ask but I need some help, I was on 4.3 rooted - used the guide here but not the supertool, did ota via settings and now have no root, tried adb reboot-bootloader (still shows unlocked) and then fastboot boot root_tn7.img and after reboot still no Super SU again...

I rebooted to recovery and get the attached 'no command' screen so guessing it wiped out my recovery as well as my root

So can anyone help me get root back, without wiping all my userdata again if possible.

use the super tool root option it will root and and install recovery if you want it very easy to do

I used the tool with option 5 - all sorted, I did have to re-download supersu from google play to update it.

Edit: looks like to me that you have wrong files... I could be wrong... Be careful you dont flash or distribute wrong files

So you are telling me you can successfully flash your tegra note? Nope you cant, nvidia have the correct nvvflash and they aren't releasing it (I talked to someone from nvidia).

Edit: always research before you throw random things out, say if people were to use that and they were to brick their devices, that would've been on your head
This is how my device became unusable, I TEST before I release anything.

Instructions for adb:

adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/LNX of=/sdcard/boot.img
exit

adb pull /sdcard/boot.img

Question: when I used this method to pull boot, system, and cache, system and cache are showing identical sizes of 768MB even though I show that cache has 12.5MB used. Any way to get dd to pull just the used data instead of the whole partition? My Linux-fu is rusty but would

cp -a /system/* /sdcard/system.img

do the same thing with only the used data being captured and not the whole partition?

Dd copies the entire partition, used and unused. You should just use CWM backups.

also not tested external sd support. mass storage doesn't work (busy atm doing something for you guys )

Will any of these rom/root works on hp slate 7 extreme? I hate how hp is doing their own updates. We are stucked with 4.22
. i asked the same question in other threads and attached a picture of the tablet build and device id. If anyone did these on hp slate, or have any info on its workability, do inform here. Thanks! Sucks having the same tablet but lagging behind with updates and mods. Lol
