Tested on my ze520kl / stock 8.0.0 and worked fine.
I'm now rooted ( magisk 15.4 ) installed.
Thanks bro.
The img file is for both variants.I can't find it for 20kl version. THe link in the drive contains twrp of only 52kl version.
Tried many times but no luck. Anyway, can someone confirm that it isn't working on ze552kl ?
Have you tried to install/reinstall magisk just before reboot?Hello,
same for me with the ze552kl. When i install a rom after the reboot of twrp it can't start android but continue to enter in twrp
I'm not sure about this, but the method I followed required the ROM to be flashed after unlocking the bootloader. It was a RAW file from ASUS itself. If you're going to re do the whole thing, you might as well flash a custom ROM. The one I'm using is pretty fast and stable. You also get Substratum support (if you're into that). Let us know anything so we can helpHello guys I'm hoping i can get some help from someone who's more advanced than myself. I Have a asus ZE520KL which the boot loader was unlocked using asus unlock apk. I'm on the latest stock firmware, 8.0 without root. I was able to install twrp but i'm unable to access any zip files on internal storage or sd card, when i choose the folder it appears empty. I was attempting to install Magisk Manager and root. I'm now in a constant bootloop that boots to the recovery screen with the options to enter bootloader, recovery, or power off. Twrp did ask for a password during setup which i bypassed by hitting cancel there was also a message about allowing read only or allowing modifications to the partition, i tried read only and allow for partition changes but it made no difference. I've tried a factory reset and format data also. Is it possible that twrp is corrupted? If so what are my options? Can i reinstall twrp or do i need to flash stock firmware or recovery? I'm kinda stumped and would appreciate any help I've fallen back to an original Galaxy Nexus on slim rom that i can only use via wifi lol this sux.
I unlocked the bootloader and rooted after the Oreo update. The XDA thread with the method I followed is now closed, but the same post is at the ZenTalk forums (with working links). As far as TWRP goes, I'm not having any issues. Have you tried to manually mount the partitions?Did you root prior to 8.0 update? I never had root before, i followed another method using zenfone 3 one click tool kit which is supposed to work on android 8.0. From my understanding after installing twrp i was supposed to boot back in to twrp recovery and install magisk and root before booting in to system. The problem is while in twrp the folders that are in the internal storage with the magisk apk, as well as the ext sd card are showing empty. It seems to be an issue with twrp 3.2.3 finding the zip files or apk.

I'm not sure i know how to mount the partitions. I'm assuming at this point my only option to have this fixed asap is to flash the stock image. I've searched but i'm not sure what the best choice to flash the stock firmware is since i cant access zip files in twrp, can i do this with zenfone flash tool?

It won't work on your device, but I found this.I'm rooting a ZC553KL with Android 8.1 (and the security patch on December 5th), is there any chance that this TWRP will work?
There is some instructions I can follow to do it or is not possible at the moment?
Thanks
