I read somewhere that the unofficial one has non-standard customisations, replacing some lineage apps with alternatives.Official site states that Mauronofrio is our maintainer, so it's the same thing
Hi!
Can I simply update twrp by flashing the latest version over the previous?
When I tried to change recovery, when I tried Orange Fox, I end up having to reinstall everything. I'm afraid that could happen again.
Can someone help, please? Thanks! : )
I installed the latest version over the previous one with the official twrp app. Needs root. Was no problem.
Now I just finished installing .c28
Rebooted to twrp. Flashed the ozip. Flashed vbmeta image, flashed Magisk and just to be sure flashed latest twrp image again.
Maybe the last step can be skipped, but I'm up and running again without loosing any data.
My experience was opposite of yours. I tried to install .28 on .c27 rooted and with official 3.4.0 TWRP, but ended with zip file treble and .c28 doesn't install. Then I installed 3.4.0 TWRP unofficial by Mauronofrio and everything went well (.c28 -> vbmeta.img -> magisk 20.4 and go).

I am stock C.28 stock ROM. I installed 3.4.0.0 TWRP a while back to root my device. Now when I booted to recovery to update to C.29, it says that my storage is encrypted and I need to enter a password to decrypt. I don't remember setting up a password to encrypt or anything.
How so I decrypt my internal storage?
Never Mind. I figured it out. Turns out the TWRP password is the same as my lock screen pin.
