To Flash the TWRP:
if it's the first time you flash the TWRP or you are getting problems of TWRP lost or device doesn't boot after flashed magisk or something else you need to flash a script to patch your vbmeta:
VBMETA PATCHER
To flash the TWRP:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-xx-xxxxxx-mauronofrio.img
Then reboot in TWRP manually or using a fastboot command.
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.3.1-xx-xxxxxx-mauronofrio.img
or
Code:
fastboot oem reboot-recovery
Flash the VBMETA PATCHER and reboot.
REMEMBER: is important that from fastboot you directly go in TWRP mode or the TWRP will be overwritten.

Reccomended ADB and Fastboot binaries:

Adb and Fastboot Installer

Hi, a little question: do you have a link for pc drivers?
And for Android 11 what TWRP?

PS: conosci la famiglia Ottomano?

Hi.
Nothing to do: I still loop in TWRP... yes I try fastboot oem reboot-recovery and yes I flashed VBMETA PATCHER (with ADB SIDELOAD).

EDIT:
Ok, stock flash and it is ok.

And for Android 11 which TWRP?

hi
I've been wondering for a long time why the touch screen is buggy in twrp
some times it is kind of dificult to unlock with pattern the twrp
and even navigate to some menu
is it on everyone or just me

It's not just you. The first time I attempt to unlock with the pattern, it never works. And all subsequent touch is laggy.

Hi!

tucana:/ # twrp decrypt **********
Attempting to decrypt data partition or user data via command line.
Failed to decrypt data.

The partition isn't flagged as encrypted, but it is (long story). Are there any more info as to why is the decryption fails?

I explained my situation here:

hi there. i have a big problem and i am trying to check if something is at fault on my end.
i have a xiaomi mi note 10 pro (the one with 256gb rom).
i have been using twrp to root my xi note 10 pro, every time xiaomi gets an update. for a year now, it has been an easy standard procedure.
Until tonight.
I just got an update. i downloaded it. root was lost.
went to fastboot to do the exact same procedure i am doing every time.
but this time, i am getting an error.
i get this message
PS C:\adb> fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (131072 KB)...
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time: 0.003s

flashing the image suddenly fails.
i have been using this image to root for a year now.
does it mean i have to use a new image perhaps?
this thread is for xiaomi mi note 10. But i have xiaomi mi note 10 pro (which is different because it has 256gb rom instead of 128gb). so could i retry using the image from this thread?
i am really sad that my root fails. i hope someone can help me. thank you very much

I'm trying to flash the latest twrp with stock 12.1.3.0 but it shows me gibberish. It works fine in miui eu 12.1.5.0. Any ideas on how to fix this? I tried factory reset after flashing but that didn't help.

So i install TWRP and then i install vbmeta using ADB sideload.
At least i think i did because ADB sideload writes at the beginning "unable to decrypt FBE device"
Anyway the TWRP recovery is not getting wipped so i think it's fine.
If you are trying to root now, after April's update the main problem you are going to face is that TWRP doesn't decrypt the /sdcard.
There are new versions of TWRP here https://dl.twrp.me/tucana/ but they also don't decrypt the /sdcard.
Also the sideload doesn't work for the ROM ZIP and i don't know why.
So the only 2 ways to load a custom ROM are:
from a OTG USB (haven't try it) or
Get lucky and succeed on pushing the zip file using adb.
For me the success rate is around 30% no clue why.
After pushing it you can install it from the TWRP recovery.
Also you need to Format Data not just factory reset if you installing new ROM.
It will take 10 min give or take to boot.
That at least worked for me.

P.S. Having tried almost all the ROMs I'd say my favorite is the 12.0.2 because on that one gestures still work with 3rd party launchers so i highly recommend it.
One the other hand the 12.1.5 froze my phone twice on the WIFI setup so i would recommend to avoid it.
