After using this recovery for a while, I've decided to wait for a more stable version of TWRP... if it ever happens. Or at least until nandroid backups are fully functional.

I had no choice but to MSM restore my phone to get it back into a working state, thanks to experimenting with custom kernels and other modifications causing stability issues. I even ended up in the dreaded "Qualcomm CrashDump Mode", at one point.

Good thing I had a valid persist.img backup handy to fix my fingerprint scanner, or I'll be sending my phone back for repairs... again.

Since I really need this phone as my daily driver: I'll just stick with stock kernel, stock recovery and xXx Magisk ROM, for now. Thank you.

I'm on T-Mobile OnePlus 8. Network unlocked thanks mobdeep (shout out!) and unlocked bootloader.

I booted the twrp.img from fastboot - all went fine. I was able to open TWRP, decrypt data, and flashed the installer. Flashed successfully. Rebooted system. When I went to reboot into recovery, it rebooted, flashed TWRP boot image for a brief second, then went black. It then went into the Qualcomm Crashdump Mode with "fatal execution (something I can't remember now)" on one line and "die" on the next line. I started to sweat at that point, fearing the worst. Luckily, I was able to hard boot back into fastboot and then rebooted to system and everything loaded fine. Now I'm nervous to try to boot back into TWRP as I don't want to get stuck in that crashdump mode.

Anyways, wanted to throw that out there for general knowledge.

Was the T-Mobile variant able to be bootloader unlocked out the box?
