Bootloop

Got my device bootloped twice. Had to flash official image twice to fix it. TWRP didnt even load - all i got is a black screen - always. tried this on miui 10 and miui 11 - same result. I have a global rom - 8gb ram version, unlocked bootloader.
Hope there will be a working recovery for this device soon....

Hello good job and thank you for the nice work,
I have a question,
I have version Miui 11.0.3.0 PGGMIXM on the device.
Does the new version work for this device?
And does root work and if which version?
regards Blei

Hello All,

New to Xiaomi devices, I was wondering if we can just 'boot' those TWRP recovery or if with that device we can only flash them?
I just got unlocked yesterday, and so far my attempts only 'booting' failed.
I am usually reluctant to flash recovery when it is only to make a backup or something and not to change stuff, but well if you tell me I have no other choices, well no other choices that is :p

Regards.

I successfully installed LR TWRP 3.3.1 9 and also rooted my rn8p (PGGEUXM 11.0.3) following a guide in this site. Everything is almost perfect but the phone is encrypted. I have read that this version fully support decrypt. Can I use it to decrypt my phone? Alternative is to wait for a next miui update and to do a clean total reinstalling and adding a step to that guide: "RM encryption" (remove encryption). That would be nice if TWRP can do this automatically.

Nobody knows? seriously?
Hey Blei,

Well to be honest I am unsure many are left it looks like they all moved away from this device :crying: (I too am still waiting for an answer, post just after yours, I only wanted to boot TWRP not flash it no answer).

It probably wont help much because we don't have same device nor same MIUI version.
I am on Global/Global with version MIUI 11.0.2.0 (PGGEUXM) fresh out of the box, never connected to internet (besides Mi Activation) wanted to make a full backup first.
Only booting both TWRP failed, but flashing this one worked. I have not gone further yet because for the moment I DO NOT want it to stick so it suits me perfectly it gets replaced by stock recovery after I reboot. For the time being I only want to make some backups before making updates or tuning anything.

Be cautious, if you did not find in this thread someone with same version as yours succeeding into flashing TWRP because from what I have read, it "seems" Chineses/Indian version roms gets bricked more easily.

Good luck!

Backup issue when Second Space on.

@Agent_fabulous, @TheImpulson :
I would like to report an issue with this TWRP version (same as with the LR one) happening when using Second Space. This is quite a big issue since that feature really is a great feature of MIUI.

As soon as you enable Second Space, w/ or w/o password (does not matter I tested both), it breaks the backup process at data after just a few % with code ERROR: 255 .

Please see attached picture.

Hope this helps.
