@Agent_fabulous, @TheImpulson :
I would like to report an issue with this TWRP version (same as with the LR one) happening when using Second Space. This is quite a big issue since that feature really is a great feature of MIUI.

As soon as you enable Second Space, w/ or w/o password (does not matter I tested both), it breaks the backup process at data after just a few % with code ERROR: 255 .

Please see attached picture.

Hope this helps.
Hey!
I looked into the issue and its due to TWRP not supporting multi/work profiles. You can see the same issue happening on a load of devices here: https://github.com/TeamWin/Team-Win-Recovery-Project/issues/1373.

As it's not a device-side issue exactly, I suggest waiting or removing the folders mentioned in the issue which causes backup to fail.

Thank you for your prompted reply and investigation into the matter.

Since both of your TWRP and the LR one were having the exact same issue, I indeed felt it was coming from the sources both team ( @Agent_fabulous & LR - I have not tried OrangeFox ) adapted for this device. However since I did not know exactly how TWRP development was really working I did not really try to look further into the issue, only noticed none here had it reported for this device.

So now I know, that's a problem with all TWRP :p

Hope it gets fixed soon, or at least I could find a way to backup my second space prior deleting it for a TWRP backup. I will have to start looking for backing up solutions from within OS (which I have never done before) and maybe one of them will work backing up all second space (app settings and all) from within that second space (that's my guess so far).
I dont exactly mind deleting my second space every time i want to make a backup with TWRP as long as I can find a solution to bring it back with a click :D

Good luck and keep up doing the good job with @Agent_fabulous !
Thanks to you for RN8PRO owners!

Regards.

Bootloop

I tried the official build launched recently, and the unofficial you provided too. Both causes bootloop in my device.
Also i tried a chinese twrp, that worked for me, although bootloop existed.
I have to remove my bootloop using XiaoMiFlash, which removes the custom recovery too.
So I Can't use custom recovery anyway, any tips? Thank you.

When flashing twrp on this phone you have to:
- Flash via fastboot
- Power off
- Power on while holding Vol+
- Usually twrp crashes once (still holding Vol+)
- Second bootup works then
- Release Vol+
Sadly only Chinese version works for me on global device as well

I think you cannot power off from fastboot. The progress I usually do is this one:
-Flash via fastboot.
-Do: fastboot reboot
-Quickly disconnect the cable and hold vol+

Or

-Flash via fastboot.
-Disconnect the cable.
-Hold power button and vol+ for 10 seconds, until the screen turns off and the phone reboots to twrp screen for the first time.

You can release the vol+ when the first twrp screen appears. It is going to reboot once and boot twrp by itself without holding vol+.

I found out, the issue was just key combination. This is my first mi phone, and i wasn’t clear about the timing and combination of keys. Now i have flashed the official twrp successfully. Thanks for the instructions. These worked.

Yesterday I tried this recovery and had some problems:
- When I was about to flash rom, I wiped /system /data /cache and /sdcard
- adb pushed rom to /sdcard
- Could not find the file, trying no navigate through folders was difficult (could not go folder up)
- Then I tried to reboot into recovery again, and couldn't. Everytime I was about to enter recovery, boot loop (selecting recovery -> bootloop, selecting fastboot -> OK)
- Downloaded Stock 11.0.6 Android 9 and flashed everything again via fastboot, except preloader lk and lk2

Where did it go wrong?

Anyone here with Android 10 Global or Indonesian fw can help me with persist partition?
Seems mine is corrupted & since there's no fastboot file for the fw yet, so anyone kind enough with TWRP can upload the persist partition backup for me, please?

Thank you in advance.

How to perform a factory restoration with twrp installed? They could detail it to me, I am afraid of breaking it down in some restart. THANKS :good::good::good:
