Team Win Recovery Project 3.X+, or twrp3for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface, but you can use hardware buttons too.The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Features
  • All Normal functions of TWRP
  • Now Support 3rdimage and OEMINFO partition
  • Battery stats, etc
  • Since 3.1.0.0 a lot more features (which i can't test since i don't have the 4X anymore)

Supported Devices
Works for Honor 4X (Che2-XX)
any based Kirin 620 model
some user tried on G620s and didn't flash, so i can't assure for the che1 too

Installation Guide
  1. Install fastboot tools (Android) from google's Sdk on your PC
  2. Reboot in Fastboot mode, pressing volume - and USB cable into the pc
  3. Enter the command : fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-0-cherry.img (I suggest to rename the file, for to example twrp.img, so you just write fastboot flash recovery twrp.img)
  4. write : fastboot reboot, and when the phone is starting, only press volume+ and you will enter to TWRP

Hello :)

Sorry for resurrecting this thread.

I have Honor 4X Che2-L11 (unlocked bootloader) running Android 6.0 (build che2-L11c432b580).

I want to enable Adoptable/Flex storage to circumvent the limited internal storage space (3GB after factory reset). My understanding is the following (please correct me if I'm wrong):
- I need to install a custom ROM that supports adoptable storage
* This requires replacing the stock recovery with a custom recovery (like this version of TWRP), right?

In 2022, is this version of TWRP still the best option as a custom recovery for my device?

What version should I use? I read on a post from 2021 (http://newsvivs.com/download-twrp-3-1-0-0-huawei-honor-4x-che2-l11-che2-l23/) that I should use version 3.1.0.0 from 2017, while there were many newer version already in 2021 (3.5.2_9-0 at the time the post I mentioned was written). The current version is 3.6.1_9-0. Should I use the most recent version or stick to 3.1.0.0 for some reason?

Thank you very much in advance for your guidance.

Best,
-a-

EDIT: No. For Cherryplus devices (like the Che2-L11) we need a custom version of twrp. I'm not sure were to find it but I did the following:
- DL twrp v. 3.1.1.0 (custom) from Roman Horuslky from this post. (link) and installed it
- DL and installed this version of RRos by @ksrt12 (Android7.1) designed for Cherryplus devices.
- from within RRos, in the update section, there are links to DL updated versions of the ROM and of the custom twrp for Cherryplus (v 3.2.2)
- updated both twrp (custom) and RRos.
