S-OFF with HBOOT > 1.00 isn't impossible. I've got it. But my Legend was shipped to me directly from HTC already S-OFF. I won it from them on twitter. Installed the froyo OTA when it came out and am now going to cm7. So I guess I'm not much help to the ultimate goal of the thread, I just wanted to gloat a bit. :D

As far as I'm aware of it there were some devices shipped with S-OFF, but it was incomplete in terms of actual write access to the /system and /recovery partitions.

I'm curious, if you do "adb remount" after booting and write a file to /system does it stay there after a reboot?

Hi there,

I'm running in some king of situation here...

I had ClockworkMod 2.5 and wanted to use UOT kitchen which is talking about ClockworkMod 3 so, googled it and found your thead. So far so good.

Ran the fastboot option of the update as per post 1 for 3.0.2.8.
Reboot, back to the system
Launched ROM Manager and there, it still said 2.5 a current and latest version.
Wanted to reboot again just to check as the actuall install took 1.5 sec to complete and since then, I'm stuck on the splashscreen.
Fastboot is acessible and I can run fastboot command from the computer but completely lost access to adb and recovery.

Any idea please?

Mine says 2.7.0.8 in the rom manager but is this clockworkmod recovery, maybe its because Koush doen't officially support this one yet?

I have a feature suggestion: A Verify Backup option.. Its pritty time consuming to backup then restore.. to see if the backup works ><

I know I can verify the MD5 by myself..but a built-in option would be great!

from time to time (very often) my legend fails to boot into recovery

I am S-OFF (via XTC-Clip) and CWM is installed to the recovery partition

what is going on, the I need sometimes 3-4 tries to get into Recovery (CWM)

EDIT: forgot, I am on hboot 1.00.0001

I've noticed today that an update for CWM is available...vers 5.0.0.1. I've installed it via ROM Manager but I didn't find any topic about it. What's new in this version?

Sent from my Legend using XDA App

Thank's TGM...the "blue" thing I've noticed also :). I'll see the others in time. It's using edify scripting I guess like 3.x. and I also saw that you don't need to be S-Off to install it. (as in this thread for 3.x CWM was a different procedure for install and also S-Off was recommended)

Well, as the version in ROM Manager is "official" from koush it comes in Fake-flash format (he assumes that everyone is still S-ON) so it doesn't need S-OFF. I'm hoping Ali Ba (or someone) will compile a version for flashing to /recovery, but I'm happy with the fakeflash one :D
