My 5.0.2.7 updated via RomManager to latest version. Good to see no more ugly pink color in recovery any more. :D

Zorka thanks for your answer.
I guess its because of my custom mtd partitioning.
When flashing new recovery, that partitioning is gone.

Good to see official support.

Just tried it. When you choose "backup current rom" from rom manager it asks for the backup name, and then boots in recovery, starting to take the backup. When it finished taking the backup, it restarts the phone normally.

I haven't tried to restore a backup, because I need the phone right now.
But in mine opinion, it just works as before. Only difference, we now have official support.

v5.0.2.8 installed from rom manager (actually updated from rom manager)
CM 7.2.0-RC0-marvel-KANG GWK74

It also fixed a problem with the battery charge led being always orange, with the phone charging while being off. Anybody that tried charging the phone shut down never saw the green led announcing full charge and also had to remove battery after disconnecting the charger in order to be able to use the phone.
This happened to me and now is finally fixed. Thanks to everyone involved! :D

Updated too through rom manager and seems to work fine, but havent tried a restore yet. Question. Will backup save only rom state or entire phone (i.e. sms, phone contacts, accounts, linked contacts (very bothersome to redo) [if not, anyone knows such an app?]

If you do a rom backup it more are less clones your whole phone into an image so your contacts etc will be in the data.img that get created during backup and if you do a nandroid restore all you contacts and texts from the time of backup will be restored ;)

Can this be true? So, if I read you right (mind you, android noob) by doing a CWM Backup/Restore (nandroid is the restoring app included thereof, right:confused:?) , I save/restore a complete clone of the device! Woohooo :D

Lol. Yes it is true. A nandroid backup is like a image/snapshot of your full phone's config except the data on the sd card's first partition.
If something goes wrong with a rom or app just use nandroid restore. This is the best thing right next to pizza. ;)
You will have everything you had at the time you backed up. Sms, contacts, emails, apps, etc.

Hi there. There are any ways to revert to Stock Recovery (to install last official ROM update)? I used Auto-Installers without luck...

Sorry for dredging up and old thread. Posted this in Q&A and it got no attention.

It looks like the latest batch of unlockable bootloaders from htcdev.com and bundled with the recent EU update don't play friendly with cwm recovery. There are several threads here with users reporting black screens (phone boots into recovery but no visible menus) or hangs on the white HTC screen. So far I've seen no real solutions, just a couple work-arounds that don't always work.

Any chance a dev can have a look into it for the community? Much appreciated knowing that you all have real lives that you're already ignoring while you work on porting Jelly Bean :D

Bumping this thread because I need the source which was used to build this CWM recovery so I may modify it and build TWRP. CAN SOMEONE PROVIDE ME THE LINK TO THE PROPER REPOSITORY!!? Trying to hook up my girls phone and make some changes to it and CWM is not my cup of tea due to the lack of flavor it offers.
