Just upgraded to a quad core (core 2 duo to a core 2 quad) and the pc crashed because of thermal overload, 100c! Ouch.

I'm using 4.1.2 AOKP (latest built from sixstringg) and I love the rom, however the battery life when screen is on is really horrible it seems.

Wondering if I could try this kernel (I know, its not CM, but is AOKP really that different from CM under the hood?) or if its destinied to fail?

I mean if it won't work for sure I'll save myself the hassle, but if there's a chance it works then I'd give it a try.

Can TWRP restore CWM nandroid backups? If so then I could just restore nandroid if it fails, phone should boot into recovery for sure even if system wont boot correctly or?

and how about latest Jellybam or other "mashup" roms that use CM or AOKP base and add features from PA and so on? Do those usually work with this kernel?

I'm currently setting up a vbox to compile my own kernel maybe, but that will still need some time I fear.

I ask, because I installed this on a friends n7000. TWRP seems to work okay, but CyanogenMod doesn't boot anymore.

No, you'll need a kernel later than 23 February.
Have a look at Asylum thread. Chasmodo posted a cm kernel with TWRP dated 09 March, which will boot recent nightlies with newer Mali (r3p1 instead of r3p0)

Does this kernel works with LiquidSmooth rom? It's 4.2.2 AOSP.
I tried this kernel before with Carbon rom 1.5 and got a bootloop.

You don't. You would have to recompile the kernel to include it.

You can try but do a nandroid backup first
There was a series of Mali driver updates and I'm not sure if they are in the utacka PA Or not so you may get bootloop

my Galaxy N7000 build number is N7000JPLSB so plz tell me which one i download and install and after flashing with it no Error installing KitKat 4.4.... Error Like Status 7.. etc
