I'll give it a shot when I'm home. No promises about my success though
Hokay, I gave it a shot and it didn't work. Basically, I stopped syncing my local repo around the time when CM6.1.1 was released, so there's a lot of stuff missing. I lack the time, will and bandwidth to do a full sync I'm afraid. (Really bad internet here, I need to do something about that)

@BlaY0, "make recoveryimage" pushes out a .img file, can't you just post that? Given that you have to do it anyway to convert it to a fakeflash zip it doesn't seem to me to be too much to ask. Just my 2 small-units-of-money ;)

Now, it occurs to me that there might be a way to do this without syncing the whole CM tree. If there is, and someone knows about it, my ears are wide open and I'm ready to learn ;)

I just downloaded the customized version for fake-flash.
It looks a lot cleaner with all the 'No' menus gone, but found a little bug - Not too sure if it was intentional or not, but pressing back button does the same thing as pressing the trackpad.

I'm actually compiling just "recovery" binary with ndk/bionic toolchain, don't have entire cm source on my workstation. What you can do is getting ali ba's or EagleTitan's recovery image, extract it in the kitchen, put "recovery" and "sdparted" from my fake-flash there and reconstruct the image back. I could do that but would rather see someone else doing it ;)

Ahh, and if you do it plz make a post in the other thread. This one is ment for fake-flash only.

I don't know what you mean? If you place your cursor on "No" line, it certainly acts the same way pressing either back or trackpad. Other menu entries can only be executed by pressing trackpad...

My attempts at this have led to a device that won't boot to recovery. Lol. I'll keep trying

Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App

EDIT:

Hmm... I think it's something to do with the header, and errors within it. I'm at a loss here. If I unpack the image, and then repack (no changes) it it will flash through fastboot but not boot, and flash_image won't flash it because it says there's an error reading the header.

I've synced the repo yesterday trying to follow the howto found on Cyanogenmod wiki (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Compile_CyanogenMod_for_Legend). I'm somewhat a noob in this kind of things, so I followed the instructions in "dummy mode" only to test if the setup is working.

After compiling the full rom I found in the output directory a recovery.img file, is it a clockworkmod image file?
I know that it is a noob question, and I was willing to learn more by myself before asking on the forum, but I've seen many people needing an update CWM.

If my guessing about that img file is wrong, if someone would kindly point me to a guide about compiling the CWM (perhaps an easy and clear one, so I could learn something) I could try to build it for the community.

Edit:
I think I found a solution, I've posted the img file in the proper thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11878281&postcount=88).

OK, here's 3.0.1.3 with all my additions. Tested it last thursday... haven't noticed back button problem.
Maybe it's normal, but in my image the problem starts after some time and not always. It shows a message saying something about enabling back button in menu and it adds the option at the bottom of the list. Next time I will save a log.

Small bug or by design:

backup and restore - Advanced Backup - 'press back' - Main Menu

Back button should bring me back to backup and restore not the main menu?

One thing that original CWM missed and you can implement it :) When browsing sd card in order to find zip ROM - holding volume down button shift just one string, like pressing the button once. Would be more handy if holding volume buttons will scroll down|up folders.

Well, maybe it's a bug or it is meant to be this way. The whole Nandroid menu works this way not just "Advanced Backup" submenu. Even in prior versions (2.5.0.7 for example).

I'll see what I can do about volume up/down button.

You mean 3.0.1.9?

There's none. Changes from 3.0.1.3 to 3.0.1.9 are insignificant especially for Legend users.

Are you the one who needs the latest version even tho you don't know what was actually changed?

My device is S-ON so I am looking for the CWM which is maintained by you.
I quoted ali ba from his other thread because he refers to this thread (for devices that are not S-OFF like mine)

So? Download this update and install it? I already told you that there are no changes from 1.0.1.3 to 1.0.1.9 you should worry about. And I also told you that there's no 1.0.1.4 for S-ON. At least not by me.

So I guess you have exactly three options... first is to S-OFF your phone and use ali ba's CWM 1.0.1.9, second is to use my 1.0.1.3 and third is to compile your own from source.

If you're looking for the addition of sd-ext to recovery.fstab: that one is in customized cwm 3.0.1.3 made by BlaY0.

You're not gonna miss anything from cwm 3.0.1.9 in functionality anyway.

Blay, thanks for the customization... its easy to partition sdcards with this.

for thous who didn't noticed. you can switch between CWM version as long as you have one update.zip in the root of your sdcard and the others have other name .zip... use "-install zip from sdcard" to do this trick with in seconds...
