Hi Hitmax117, I'm looking to use the ext partition as a way of giving myself more room to properly install some of my apps, maybe 500 mb of space so that my big apps can go there and leave the phones internal memory alone.
then you need to backup your sd card, go into cwm recovery, select advanced then partition sd card

now what happens next i can't remember exactly but it starts to ask about sizes, always read the top text and only chose 500mb for the first partition(probably it will ask the first partition first), for al the other ones select 0MB

now how to move the apps to ext, you need to activate it, the way to do that depends on the rom you are using, which one are you using?

@Blay0

I heard that CWM 4.0.x.x recovery is out. Any chance that you would provide this version for us?

Unyaffs?

Has nothing to do with recovery image. What you need to do is putting img into the kitchen and deconstruct it. Then get recovery and sdparted from my zip and replace those from initrd dir. Construct back the img. Flash it. That's all ;)

To get to recovery volume down + power on, choose recovery. While at the red triangle it's volume up + power. It may take some tries but you will get to a blue menu. Navigate and choose apply update.zip. Now you will get to an orange menu which is clockwork recovery

When I'm trying this, it doesn't install successfully and says: "Signature verification failed, installation aborted."

@BlaYO

your customized CWM was a life-saver indeed for me earlier today and I cannot thank you enough !

here's why ...
1. I had your B.0.8 froyo rom running on my Legend perfectly fine.
2. because other helpful folk like 'waterpolo' have been helping my with boot animations I needed to restore my backup of CM7 (normally no problem)
3. it seemed restore fine, but hung on reboot. all I could access was bootloader, etc and ADB showed 'no devices' (I have never been in such a pickle)
4. even after hours on the forum I could see no way of getting a rom on again

but then stumbled across this posting, downloaded your zip ... and wallah! ... I had CM again.
a quick restore of my b.0.8 backup, and all is fine again.

here for me :
"failed to verify whole-file signature
signature verification failed
"

you mentioned :
I guess you have to resign the image with -w option.
but i do nothing special.
i just installed XXJVU 2.3.6 ROM
rooted it
and then put "customized_cwm-3.0.1.3" in root of extrenal SD Card.
restart then phone and in "ClockWorkMod Revocery 2.5.1.0 Speedmod kernel"
i tried to install zip from SD card.
i tried install update.zip too.
i selected cutomized_cwm-3.0.1.3
the screen said: finding update package...
opening update package...
installing update...
ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.1.3
and then nothing.
screen hangs on a progress bar in gray color 0%
----------
i disabled "Signature Check" in ClockWorkMod 2.5.1.0 installed before but now nothing.

i need this file for Auto partitioning because while i do partitioning manually by "Fdisk" it said "0 Cylinders"
this exactly :
Code:
Command (m for help): n
n
Unknown value(s) for: cylinders (settable in the extra functions menu)
please help me what to do now?

Edit:- you are using a Samsung galaxy s2 aren't you, well, this recovery is for HTC legend only.

Are you actually using a HTC legend? I have not heard of the Rom you flashed, at least here on xda unless I missed it some how, I've been around here for a long time now oh and speedmod kernel that is also not one I've heard of for legend.
Anyhow, that recovery is ONLY supposed to be for HTC legend it can cause issues or even bricking if used on a different phone.

.....
Yes correct.
That's important note.
as you mentioned this customized CWM is for HTC Legend not others.

I installed speedmod kernel designed for Galaxys again and should search for another solution to solve "Cylinders=0" while i re-partition using "Fdisk" in shell.
Thanks for Reply.
