no pressure then, it's fine as it is.

i just need to remember, like really hard, to turn it off.
i wish i didn't make the same mistake not turning it off over and over again:eek:
lol. I work on this stuff in my free time as a hobby. I hate it as well though. I've gotten to the point as soon as I'm doing doing anything w/ adb, I shut it off now automatically. :) I'm counting the days till we have a way to unlock the bootloader. I really miss not being able to flash my own custom kernel on both my droid2 global & the defy. Take care.

sorry but i can't exactly pin point your problem.

but to make things more clear, try this:

1. move one of your (expendible) backup to your computer
2. copy it back
3. rename and copy it back again

and tell us which one of those works (in my case both would work)

Sorry, this might be a slightly dumb question but will this install over the previous version of ClockworkMod I have or should I uninstall that first and then install this one?

Nope, you have to un-install the previous version, then install this one. Then click on Install Recovery System once. After that, you'll be all set. :)

Just a thought, would it be possible to change the /system/bin/charge_only_mode to start the recovery on boot? This way it goes with the xRecovery on SE X10, there is used the /system/bin/chargemon file to start the recovery and more. I found that very useful, as I could quickly restore without reflashing, while the system was bricked.

looks great!
however, is it possible to add a reminder at recovery boot for something like "unchecked the debugging" for now? forgot that so many times, and had to pull the battery out often...

Hi all,
Rumor has it I picked up a DEFY last week. ;) Most people in the community know me for my work on the cliq/backflip/cliqxt. It's been quite some time since I posted any mods/work here on XDA so here we go. First I'd like to say thanks to Koush & Tenfar for the work they've done. They laid the ground work. I simply needed/wanted to improve on it more. I wanted to include the latest 2.5.1.x version since it has some bug fixes/new features also. So here you go. This recovery includes the latest 2.5.1.8 ClockworkMod Recovery, fixed fix_permssions script, and updated adb that allows root access when using adb shell. All your backups, downloads will reside in the clockworkmod directory on your sdcard just like a standard clockworkmod recovery. If you haven't noticed the fix_permissions script don't run properly via the recovery on the DroidX/Droid2/Defy. I simply fixed the script so it does work properly. Thanks again to both Koush & Tenfar. I'm looking into resolving the problem when you have USB debugging enabled you can't boot into recovery mode properly. This release still has that issue, just FYI. If you choose to use this version over Tenfar's, you'll need to un-install his version, install this one, & choose the option to install recovery once. After that, it's works the same way. Take care.

This would be great!
Also I wonder if SD mounting is working on this build? :)

/Edit:
SD mounting doesn't work for me here, too :(
Is there a way to fix this?
Would be great..
I guess the other mounting options don't work, too?

Also I wonder why the recovery ask for su request after a fresh reboot without starting it.
Is there somekind of autostart?

And last wish could you put more space between the buttons.
That would be nice ;)
To bad that the recovery isn't java, else I would put my hands on it :D

I can assure you it works on all stock froyo releases (TMO UK PL CN). It does nothing less than the tenfar 1218 release. And both are much less buggy than tenfar 0119 release.

so sorry to hear about that, but good luck!
Edit: Links have been removed. Sorry folks, as of last night, it's clear I need to step away from the android development area awhile. So, I'm removing this. Don't bother asking, I won't discuss the details. If/when in the future I decided to start working w/ android again, I'll post details. Thanks for all the support from those who have supported what I've tried to do/accomplish those using Motorola android phones! I appreciate it more than you know!

Too bad, but I wish things go well with whatever you're dealing with and looking forward to the day you come back.

I don't get why do you have to remove the links? If this recovery is better than tenfar's, you could at least leave the links up for the people that wants to install it.

Anyway thanks for your work and good luck :)
