I'm a bit confused, maybe someone can help. What is the latest version of clockworkmod recovery for Defy? Do the versions for Milestone work on Defy? Does version 3.x does not require USB Debug to be turned off?

Thanks!

Can't get to recovery

Having an issue getting into any recovery on my Defy. I've tried all the different ways to to get recovery and can never get to recovery unless I re-install SndInitDefy 1.9.apk and boot from there. Tried getting to recovery with System Recovery and paid version of Rom Manager. System Recovery just reboots the phone and Rom Manager takes me to the triangle/exclamation with the little green android, and yes I tried touching the lower right part of the screen.(and the left). Nothing. I've done the: Hold volume down/power button, Volume up/power button thing and just get boot screen or little android. Also installed ClockworkMod .apk with no luck. I'd prefer to use clockworkmod. Works great on my G1.
Anyone have any other suggestions. I'd hate to go through the recovery every time I boot the phone, but I can set the default boot (SndInitDefy) to do that and then boot the system but that would be kind of a pain in my ass. Help ?

Running: OTA 2.2.1 update, Version.34.4.9.MB525.T-Mobile.en.US - ROOTED.

Should I change Rom ? Planned on it but still looking for one I like. Suggestions on Roms ?

By the way, has anyone seen a ClockworkMod ver. 4.0.0.1. I swear I saw that version number on my phone in the past couple days.
Thanks.

I don't have a problem getting recovery the first time, after installing SndInitDefy, it's all the attempts after that. Once I boot the system normally, every attempt after that results in fail.

No blue LED blinking while boot up, what is the trick?

From SystemRecovery app. (ClockworkMod_2.5.1.8.zip installed) I am able to enter Recovery Boot, but how to enter the mode while boot up, blue LED is not visible.

Dbg is disabled!

Thanks, BW

That's because you have System Recovery installed, to get the blue LED you need 2ndInitDefy installed.

Not sure what problems if any you would have if you tried to install 2ndInitDefy with System Recovery installed.

Cheers
