I have used TWRP to back up a rooted Samsung S4 (SGH-i337Z , 4.4.2) and after the reboot after backup I discovered that I had lost root.
I have since then re-rooted and still loose root when rebooting after a backup made.
Even the back up made does not have root.
What am I doing wrong or is there a fix to this problem I am having ?

Thanks, you guys rock.

From what I can see on Jenkins, it failed to build the jflteatt version a few days ago. https://jenkins.twrp.me/job/jflteatt-prod/. The last successful build was the one from 7 months ago. I wish I spoke log output to find out why it failed!
TWRP 3.0.0-x is out (yes!) but it looks like there is no maintainer for the i337 and no img available to download. (https://dl.twrp.me/jflteatt) Does anyone know if this will change in the near future? I have no problems with version 2.8.7.0 for the i337.

Looks like it succeeded a little earlier today. Download is already live on https://twrp.me/devices/samsunggalaxys4att.html

Downloaded three times and verified md5. Every time I go into twrp, tap install, and tap Images..., it fails to flash, saying no partitions selected to flash.

I was able to flash, but looks like it wasn't loki'd because I couldn't get back into recovery. Thankfully I could still get into Android so I adb shell'd in and re-flashed 2.8.7.0. Probably good to wait until they loki patch it.

According to the jflteatt status page on twrp.me, "Our images are already patched with loki so just root and flash."

If you couldn't get in to recovery afterwards, it almost sounds like something didn't flash right.

It installed right but gave me the Samsung security error about it not being a secure image, then it refused to load it. Happens if you don't loki patch after flashing some roms. It may have been loki'd before but Jenkins may not know what/how to do that.

I've been using this for a while no problem. It automatically detects and loki our device.http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal.../jdcteam-twrp-touch-recovery-3-0-0-0-t3312115

Is it twrp-3.0.0-0-jfltecan? Did you try to flash any rom? it failed to flash rom like Albe95 LolliROM, it's ok with twrp-2.8.4.0-jfltecan
Hi,

Yep, file is twrp-3.0.0-0-jfltecan.img that I flashed through recovery. Have flashed Lollirom 8.0 / Imperium 12.1 / and am currently on JASONRR's Wizcyan version 4.6

I've completed back-ups and have flashed custom kernels as well.

I've had no issues with this recovery image on my SGH-1337M

Good luck,

sorry to ask you another question, what kernel did you flash Lollirom 8.0 ? and is that kernel for I9505? Thanks

I flashed Imperium kernel V3.5 and yes it is from the i9505 board. If you are flashing a kernel be sure to flash the kernel wipe first - it removes your current kernel and prepares for the new kernel you will flash

Why didn't this work for me? My phone was already rooted, I was using a custom ROM. I used the loki thing in the past, it was a long time ago. I had TWRP and tried upgrading to the latest version today and now it says "system software not authorized by AT&T..." and can't boot.
