I tried this with my i9506 with stock stock Lollipop 5.0.1

Everything seemed to go fine although it took some time before the PASS appeared in Odin but after it said everythinf succeeded and I unplugged my phone and went to recovery mode, it was still just the stock android recovery.
I tried doing everything again twice and both times the result was the same. Semmed to go right but still no custom recovery for me.

Any ideas what might be wrong?
Go to download mode ONLY from switched off phone using the keys as described in OP...

That I did every time.

I also noticed that my phone status is now custom despite that custom recovery is not there. KNOX still shows 0x0 though.
I even tried removing battery at one point of the process since one person mentioned that earlier in this thread but that didn't work either.
No idea what I should try now.

Okay I managed to get it working. I really had to do the battery removal thing but a bit differently now. I just unchecked the auto-reboot from Odin and after the process was done and Odin showed me reset on a blue background, I unplugged my phone and removed the battery. Then I booted into recovery mode and it it worked. I'm guessing the default recovery was overwriting the custom one after the reboot if I didn't get into recovery straight away.

Now that's has been done I noticed th TWRP mentioning my phone isn't rooted and asked me if I wanted to install SuperSU and saying this will root your device. Will this method actually work? I've read that 5.0.1 is quite hard to root so before choosing that one I just want to make sure it would actually work and not cause any trouble?

Hi kornelius,
Cit has no time in the last months... he work and study, so real live is first of all... when he will be free from study he will bring back our development... that's the situation... so be patient.
Dont get me wrong my friend :) of course real life is first of all and this is just hobby. Glad to hear development is not dead and of course we will be patient and thankful ;)

Hmmmm 2.8.6.0 is needed, as encryption is not working with 2.8.5.0, any idea if there will be an update soon ?

i could try to build it on my own, but never did a recovery before, just Roms.

Upgraded from TWTP 2.8.5.0 to 2.8.7.0 and I'm sorry to say that it didn't go to well, it totaly wrecked my boot options, after install the phone would only boot into recovery, system boot and download mode froze the phone and the confirmation slider was not working, removing and inserting battery did not help and strangely enough connecting the charger would put it in recovery mode, I was able to save myself by using the inbuilt terminal and doing /system/bin/reboot witch booted me into system.
Now I have to find a way to reverse the update with out going into recovery, just wanted you all to know.
