I am trying to flash this recovery but having trouble. I can reboot to the bootloader via adb. I have unlocked the bootloader via adb. I have restarted the bootloader as directed. In my PC I put the twrp image in the adb folder that has adb and fastboot applications. Yet when I type fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.1-h901.img the command prompt says error: cannot load 'fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.7.1-h901.img'. What am I doing wrong>?

The file needs to be in the folder that you issue the command from, not where adb resides. For example, if you issue the command in the terminal from your home folder, the file should be in your home folder.

Yeah the same thing happened to me and I copied and pasted the command from OP and it worked lol. Like its the same thing I manually typed but for some odd reason it refused to load. Try it, maybe it'll work. It did for me...[emoji57] [emoji57]

A good hint for files: I rename all files to something more manageable like twrplv.img or twrp6p.img, etc. Saves on typing and I know for which phone if I have multiple.

In the OP instructions it mentions the fastboot boot command. Is that there as an option in case you just wanna flash something but keep the stock recovery? That would be nice if the bootloader supports that, in case you just wanna flash su or something but not hassle with flashing recoveries

I had the damnest time figuring out how to so an elevated command prompt on my win10 pc. Every time I right-clicked a folder I'd get the thinking circle that would last indefinitely but eventually I got to it from This PC/Desktop, clicking file, then administrative command prompt. It was quite easy once I figured it out.

I tried to do the commands and even though my computer has my phone labeled as V10 I typed the reboot command and it said null no device found. Ideas?

Where is it showing in control panel or when you typed adb devices? It has to be showing in adb devices.

I keep getting a error: cannot load TWRP.img

Because your file isn't in the folder with you adb. That or you are trying to do the fastboot from the wrong directory. Right click on the folder where the img is and open cmd prompt from that then do the commands

Yes once you fastboot load that img then you fastboot reboot to that img. Its on the op. If you follow the instructions you will be fine. Once you load up twrd you flash that zip and all will be well.again follow op and you will be fine

I put it in my system32 folder and the adb folder. Both gave me the same error.

Yeah same thing when I first did it. Your adb cmd prompt isn't in the right directory. Can't put it in system32 for some reason. You need. To right click on adb folder and. Load cmd prompt. Or do the 's commands to navigate to it
