Submitted.
Thank you
I know it's on the first page (or at least I think I know, which is why I'm asking) but I just wanna make sure I'm right before jumping into unlocking my T-Mobile bootloader. If mine is locked, the steps to unlock it are in the OP, right? the part where it says "if bootloader is locked:" then I have to enter those commands? Did I get everything right here?
Yes you are correct

Ever figure out this?

I tried that and it says app needs to update. After it updates it brings me to the LG app s page and voice care doesn't appear. Is there another way to download? Enjoy using this app.

Got an update to voice care last night. Looks like it's finally back to working.
Download

Okay, so I took the plunge and unlocked and rooted my V10. Im coming from a Galaxy S6, I've only had Nexus devices previous to that. Before I go crazy, has anyone actually made and restored a nandroid, and is there a TWRP flashable stock ROM?

Hold volume down and power and LG splash screen will appear...wait till it goes off and on again, release power for a quik moment and press power again...it will take you to a factory reset, hit yes and next screen yes and that will boot into twrp;)

Edit: And it will say it will erase data and factory reset, but it wont...it will just boot you into twrp!
Does this go for it you dont have TWRP but still have stock recovery installed? Or will it actually factory reset if you still have stock recovery, anyone know?

Yes, if you do not TWRP it will factory reset your device.

Factory reset is kind of a false statement though as a true factory reset would need to take into account any changes made to any directory under /; However it simply wipes all user data from the device therefore if you had made changes to /system [i.e. root] then the changes will still be there upon "factory reset"

I've been wondering, what does it take to build a twrp version? I'm interested in just knowing. Lol I've been wanting to experiment with it and also change the device name from h901 to pplus also. Ha-ha

On a side note, hope your daughter is doing better. ?

Right, gotcha. Not a full factory restore but a data wipe. Thx

In developer options, you have USB debugging and enable OEM unlock checked. You may also have to go into storage settings and mess with mtp setting.

I've messaged @KAsp3rd to include it in his OP.

ONLY PERFORM IF YOU HAVE ALREADY FLASHED TWRP AND CREATED AN EXTERNAL BACKUP!!!
1. Hold Volume Down
2. Hold Power button until you see LG screen
3. Release Power button and then rehold Power button
4. Follow on-screen prompts to perform a Factory Reset (If you have TWRP, this should not actually factory reset, but there has been one case of it doing it, that's why I suggest keeping a copy of your backup on your computer), may take a minute to boot into TWRP
5. Enjoy TWRP without fastboot

EDIT: On hold until verified on latest TWRP/more devices.
This worked for me. Thanks ;)

Working on another minor update as I don't usually encrypt my device I actually need input from users. How much encryption do you use? Full device, internal memory, external sdcard? (I need to encrypt my device the same as y'all to test)
At the moment I do not encrypt but would like to consider that option at a later time. I can certainly live without it. Just sayin'

Also the time/date will most likely never be correct I can get the time right but the date will always be in 1970 (don't think you want that). A couple things I will try with that to get it as close as I can but I cannot promise anything.
They were, of course, both wrong. Annoying but what the hey...

One small thing - I let it do a backup and the screen timed out. When I came back tapping the screen did not wake it as it usually does with TWRP. No biggie, just wanted to mention it.

I have a couple backups on my device that I have only restored the boot.img from so I'll do a full backup and restore to check that issue as well.
I too will try a restore before I put too much on the device but it'll have to wait a bit. On the way out..

I did another full backup of all partitions (except cache and recovery) followed by a full restore of the same partitions. This correctly formatted /system before restoring so a problem, if any, would surely show up.

Booted just fine after the full restore.
I did NOT attempt to restore individual partitions on this test.

Not sure why some have had issues but this one went flawlessly (except for the need to rename the backup set).

Interesting stuff. While the date of the backup set is not correct it does follow some (to me unknown) pattern. The year is always correct and somehow the actual date in the year progresses based on some things. Note these backups taken today (December 11) and yesterday (December 10):

The date is incremented based on something though I could not say what or how..
