Do me a favor and delete /sdcard/TWRP/.twrps and reboot recovery for another check if you don't mind...
Interesting idea.. I'll do it on few minutes. Now, keep in mind that this device has an emulated SD card and an actual SD card. Both have the twrp folder so I suppose I'll clear both .twrp ones since I dunno which it may look at..

No go. Tried two different times, same result. See the screen capture of the folder. I can't attach the log file as I'm getting an error. I'll have to upload it someplace if you want it. You can see the fix date results there as well..

[ EDIT 1 ] Okay, you can grab the log from here. I'll delete it in a few days.

[ EDIT 2 ] Are my tests the only ones generating the funky dates? Hmm..

[ EDIT 3 ] Last edit, really! :) I flashed the previous version which did not seem to have any issues with the .twrp file created by your version, suggesting they may be the same. Did a quick backup and the date/time was correct except for the year, of course.

I s'pose you would. The others must be slow readers. :)

One more request...
Can you copy/paste the contents of '/sys/class/rtc/rtc0/since_epoch' and '/sys/class/rtc/rtc0/date' ?

I have two of these phones, but the other is not rooted so I can't use it for testing without ticking off the wife...

Well, the file claims to be 4k but it contains only this:

Yes, well currently my since epoch count is 1420588464. Obviously far off from yours. Well, we can't really create a fake real time clock adjustment with a static value if epoch counters are varied...

I don't plan on creating customized recoveries per individual to adjust for epoch. Hmm...

Sorry, I have no clue why the difference (sigh) There are 8 files in the rtc0 directory but I have no idea how they relate to each other.

Individual versions? That would be silly, at best.

It's quite simple. The reason the date seemed even remotely close to accurate was because of an adjusted epoch (seconds since 01/01/1970) set in the kernel by LGE_RTC_FAKE_SECS. As per Kconfig:
Code:
config LGE_RTC_FAKE_SECS
	bool "LGE RTC FAKE Feature."
	depends on RTC_DRV_QPNP
	default n
	help
If you say yes here, kernel will show fake rtc epoch time.
This is adding a static value to your device's power on time. You can determine your device's specific power on time with:
Code:
expr $(date +%s) - $(cat /sys/class/rtc/rtc0/since_epoch)
The date/time output with this enabled will vary for each device. I can tailor the static adjustment value per device, but that's just not going to happen.

Really, this is the way it should be... LGE_RTC_FAKE_SECS disabled in the kernel. This will show your device power on time (36561874 is mine). The time will be correct, but the yyyy/mm/dd will not.
