SS splash screen when plugging in charger

I noticed something happening the last few nights when I plug in the power cord:

The last few nights after pow the phone off, and plugging in the charger, I get a pixilated SafeStrap slpash screen (Recovery on left Continue on

right), neither option is selectable, and it goes away after a few seconds: anyone have any idea WHAT this is about?


Running BajaRom 12 (KK 4.4) in SS 3.72 on stock slot, not a ton of mods, and nothing new in the last several days to match up with this issue.

No other issues, no noticeable effects from this, just curious more than anything

So can any one say they are on ROM slot 1 and running flawlessly???

May have to try myself!

I've seen maybe a half dozen users say they're running a cust rom in a slot other than stock slot. Some say they have minor issues, some say they have no issues.

To be 100% honest, I have no desire to run multiple roms ATM so stock slot is fine for me I say you should back up you current set up, try flashing something in slots 1 or 2, if it works, great, if not, restore

I think the trick to get the other slots working us to create them while your still in 4.3. Once you're on 4.4 the slots can't be created.

Not so much that you CAN'T use Rom Slots on 3.72, but that it is NOT SUPPORTED should you have an issue

Besides tje permisve being wnforcing I have roms running on slot 1 and 2 flawlessly

I tried slot one and two.
Both were acting up.
Wouldn't let me wipe data.
And when I went to install roms it said it couldn't Mount system.

Oh well.

No major issues with KK NC2 leak with NC4 Recovery and Modem and SS 3.72 here. Running like a champ and now just waiting for the ROM slot availability. Can't wait to see what other Roms will come out for 4.4.2

In Safestrap 3.63 (running stock rooted in rom slot with SDM frozen) how do I clear just the cache and the dalvik? I see the option "wipe" but I only want to wipe the cache and dalvik, not the rom. Sorry but I am used to cwm and I've never used TWRP. I don't want to click on Wipe just to find I've wiped everything. Thanks for your patience. I know this is a real noob question and I've searched and many people speck of clearing cache but nobody mentions exactly how (that I could find).

Been awhile since I've been on that. Is there an advanced button? If so hit that and it might bring you to select exactly what you want to wipe.

I have almost the same issue with all rom slots. It will let me wipe data, but will not let me mount /system no matter what I try. I'm on 4.4 with the 3.72 safestrap. I'm going to keep looking and trying. Someone let me know if you have any ideas please! :cyclops:

Rom slots not available yet. This is a know issue and I'm sure its being worked on now. Only option is to back up and flash on Stock slot for now.

Thanks for the reply. I must have gotten really lucky! As a last ditch effort, I completely formatted and re flashed the whole phone with NC2 using Odin. After setting everything up I again loaded the latest SS recovery. On ROM slot 1, I installed the latest (as of 5-29-14) hyper drive ROM. After a few resets everything appears to be working perfectly! Hope it stays that way...

V3.72 not working after installing

I guess I ran into these two issues listed in the "Known Issues" section:

[v3.72] Sometimes the installation doesn't work correctly. If you don't see the splashscreen after a rebooting. Install Safestrap again. (DEBUGGING THIS AS I GET TIME) --> I don't see the splashscreen after a rebooting and I've tried installing Safestrap multiple times.
[v3.72] "Reboot Recovery" doesn't work in the APK --> Nothing happened when click "Reboot Recovery"

So now after flash the stock Deodexed N900VVRUCNC2 ROM, I was not able to install SafeStrap and flash the BajaROM I want to use. Can you please advice or should I just wait for these bugs to be fixed?

Update: I was able to make it work after re-install it for another two times. Don't know why it was not working before.

Yep, this worked for me! My dad got a Note 3 and the biggest problem I had was after NC4 --- it would go from Samsung Note 3 (unlock symbol) and straight into BajaRom without a recovery option.

I had to reinstall recovery 3 times inside of the SS app (reinstalling the SS app did nothing) for it to work.

3.65 issue

My safe strap is installed but not active. It had been working 100% until I had to restore. Now after installing and reinstalling it still will not become active. I can still flash etc but I just wanted to see if anyone has a fix for peace of mind. Thanks again

I don't think it will show active or enabled unless ur on a custom slot... I've never seen active on mine and have only used the stock slot

Thanks bro. That must be it because prior I used custom slot on 4.3. I am back on KK now so I better get over it!
