Hello guys

Just to confirm: it is totally safe to flash a new non stock rom to the stock slot. This will let you to use all the space in the internal storage and not only that 2 Gb of using slot 1,2,etc.

I am now running X Note Rom in the stock slot with more than 18 Gb free for data in internal storage. Hope this confirmation can help you deciding about flashing to stock slot.
That's what I'm doing with xNote 7.0. I even went as far as uninstalling SS and just boot directly into xNote.

Problem parsing package?

Forgive me Hascode in advance if this doesn't belong here.I'm just trying to pinpoint a minor issue on my end.I did a search in the thread and came up blank. So my question is, I download the 3.71 apk on my phone and when I try to install via ESFile Exp. Root Exp, or the native installer I get this reply in my title ^. If i download to my computer and transfer it, it works. Rooted with kingo . Verify apps is off. USB Debug is checked and unknown sources.I downloaded it to the internal and ext. sdcard and get get the same response. Is it it the download, kingo,my phone, or user error? Thanks in advance.

BTW. Small donation. Confirmation # 4TA71364WD740390T

Coler...I understand that you are hesitant about kingo due to all the threads and crap about them. But tbh, I did it to my note3 before any of that started on xda, then after it did, I searched thru nearly every single file, folder, xml file ect on my phone over the course of a few days. Even going so far as to decompile my entire rom and pick thru it and have never once found a single odd app, permission, situation where something was running that shouldn't ect. I honestly think the problem is the devs here that couldn't find a way to do what kingo did, got bent out of shape and started calling it malware. Yes, it's not open source and they don't want to reveal they're method, then again why would they when every other known method has gotten patched once discovered...ie loki, cf auto ect. Now I'm not in any way connected to them, partial to them, make anything or whatever just saying me experience.

As for mj5 i think it's pretty much the same, if not a little faster and smoother, I just hated the blue keyboard so I swapped back to the old white and silver. I absolutely love my note 3

Again just my experience and 2 cents

Not Working with My 64 gig card

Seems to be working fine with my 64 gig card. Thanks!
SS Version 3.71 does not work with my 64 gig card. I tried backing up to it. The first time the backup was empty even though it took 15 minutes to "create". On all my other attempts to backup, system and data files were produced but when I tried to restore, it "restores" the system in about 18 seconds and the data in 2 seconds (with no error message) but it never reboots. I tried this with my stock rom as well as Incursor. When I tried to install a rom from my 64 gig card this morning, it also failed with 3.71. Once I put the rom onto my phone storage, it installed with no problems. Maybe there is something wrong with my external micro SD card.......but titanium backup and other apps have no problems with it......maybe I'll just go ahead and reformat it to FAT 32.

My format data doesn't work, every time I type yes I get the error message stating media not found.

My "Format Data" returns the same error. I just go to "advanced " then I go to "file manager" then navigate to "ss" folder and delete the images (cache, data and system) when I want to recreate and re-size a slot.

When I format data under advanced, checking the box, it gives me the same error. I guess I'll have to do the file manager option. I've been using the stock slot for flashing roms, I like having all the space available.

Booting into SS

the normal factory recovery or SS recovery?

Funny I always just reboot via the power button and then choose "recovery" (into safestrap) vs "continue" (to boot into the given slot). I only manipulate the Safe Strap App from the stock rom (like when upgrading from 3.70 to 3.71).

When you wipe the the files through file manager, which files do you wipe? The ones under "\" or do you wipe under "legacy"?

Should be at the root level you'll see an "ss" folder at same level as the sd folder. Within the ss folder you'll see all four slots. The ones you set up will have cache, data and system images. To free up the space (even after doing a wipe) I had to delete these images. I went from 200mb available to 17gigs. Then you can go back and set up the slots again with the sizes of your choosing. Remember this is within safestrap file manager which is within the safe strap recovery advanced menu.

I've been using ss for about a week and finally ran into something I had a question about. I was using the rom slots to test various roms to see which I liked best. I settled with Knox and decided to install it in the stock rom slot (after backing it up). I then wiped the stock rom slot with the advanced wipe feature minus the external sd card for obvious reasons. I then installed Knox and booted up. Everything went fine and I installed the ss app and uninstalled recovery and installed it again. It said successful so I assumed it worked. Then I rebooted and it said " Safestrap: Disabled yet loaded it anyways when I selected the recovery option. It seems to work fine but I was wondering why it says it's not installed when it is

It says disabled because you are booting to the stock rom and not a slot, if you selected slot 1 it would say enabled. Enabled just means that you are not on the stock slot, has nothing to do with SS being activated or on. It's all good.

I have ss installed and functioning great with stock +2 rom slots however I noticed some of you mentioning rebooting from the rom and selecting reboot to recovery to get to ss. When I choose reboot to recovery from xnote I get sent to stock revocery not ss. Is this normal?

Did you install SS to the slot you are running too?

hold down power button until it reboots, when it goes to reboot, quickly hold down volume down button and power button at the same time to boot into custom recovery
Edit: oop's read where you did that try this thread **Wifi Fix** Restore for MJ5 - Knox 0x0 + root
