Will it be OK to back up the stock slot and restore it to one of the 4 slots, then install xnote in the stock slot to make use of all the available space?

Did you happen to back up the stock rom? If so, restore it and see if it's fixed.

You can also delete ss, reboot to see if it's fixed. Sounds like a SS issue but need to narrow it down.

I honestly want to try that but im afraid of getting stuck in boot at least ss works enuff I can switch roms just wont boot up stock slot

Ok, how about deleting ss, then install it again (follow the updating ss steps) something is corrupted and I'm sure it's a easy fix as soon as it's pinned down.

Root should still be there, install superuser and see. I hope you moved your slot backups to the SD card

Sorry, new to this safestrap tool. But i created a new rom slot and flashed it to the x-note rom. After installing my apps, I look at my storage and see that I only have less than 1 gb left of free space. I could have sworn I had like 18 gb of free space left before I created the rom slot. Will i be able to create another rom slot?

I was wondering the same thing. I am using xnote on slot number 1 and i didn't change anything when i created the slot.

So its normal to see the storage space like that?

I searched and couldn't find the answer to this. Where are the backups stored, I know when I use to have TWRP on s4 there was a folder for that but I can't find the folder for backups with safestrap. Any help would be appreciated.
