Open safestrap, boot to recovery and I believe it's in the advanced section to choose where you send the backups.

Edit: reboot to Safestrap Recovery, hit backup, towards the bottom of the screen it says storage, touch it, now you can select a location.

Stickied with my post-it-note 3
Awesome thank you

I have recently rooted my AT&T GN3 via Kingo root. Everything is working fine. I have downloaded Wanam and the Xposed Framework. I want to install SS recovery so I can have a back up of my stock ROM should anything happen and possibly down the road flash a ROM or 2. Should I uninstall Wanam and Xposed and then download SS and do the backup then or does it matter?

You don't need to uninstall them. Just follow the instructions to install SS. I used Kingo too and didn't uninstall them.

Fyi... I haven't had any issues with installing on the stock slot. Haven't had to store the stock rom, but I have the backup and don't think there will be any issues restoring it if needed.

One last question do you do advance wipe ( wipe the system, dalvik cache, data and cache) or you just factory reset then install a rom on the stock slot?

I do both just to make sure it's wiped good. I also go to file manager and delete "data/media/0", to make sure the stuff from the previous Rom is gone to make sure nothing conflicts. Just make sure anything important is saved to your extsd before you delete that.

Sorry for the delay. Got busy at work. Do the same as jbluedodge does.

Well in TWRP 2.6.3.1 there is an option in WIPE section called as "Format Data" but when i go into it it says type "Yes to continue", then i type Yes but it says Data Format Failed...

E: Unable to wipe '/datamedia' using function
E: Unable to format to remove encryption
E:error opening '/datamedia/media'
E:error: No such file or directory

Can anyone tell me how can i format my internal Storage now...I am not talking about Factory Data Reset or Advanced Wipe options...but i wanna know how to use Format Data function.

Go to file manager, then go to the folder "data/media/0", then tap delete. Hashcode is working on the format data error.
