So my phone got the error popping up with the play store. So I decided to install safestrap on my rooted phone and install a new rom on the secondary rom slot. For some reason, it failed whenever I tried backing up the stock android I have.

So I went ahead and installed the Alliance rom with success. Until I rebooted. Now I am stuck on the "Samsung GALAXY Note3" boot screen with the "Custom" under it. It doesn't reboot itself and it just sits on this screen indefinitely. How do I fix this? I can't seem to find a way to boot directly into Safestrap.

did you forget to install the OC1 lolipop kernel and also if you use the slots in safestrap they have to be NC2 rom's , rom's that run on KitKat NC2 kernel, you cannot run Lolipop rom's but on stock slot and you have to eith install OC1 kernel while in recovery or odin install it

safestrap kernel installer
SM-N900A_N900AUCUEOC1_KERNEL_Recovery-Flashable.zip

odin kernel installer
AP-SM-N900A_N900AUCUEOC1_KERNEL.odin installer.zip 8.9 MB

and if you cam from a Kitkat rom to lolipop you might also need to flash the oc1 firmware. You can check the about info and make sure the baseband is OC1 (for lolipoip rom's)

SM-N900A_OC1_Firmware_Recovery-Flashable.zip 49.0 MB

So what I have to do is, install the OC1 kernal via Odin, then install the Lollipop Rom for it to work? I can't seem to get access to my storage when I am in SS, Recovery, or Odin on my phone. So the only way is to install the OC1 kernal via Odin on my PC?

first yo must understand safestrap works only with NC2 kernel
OC1 lollipop kernel is installed last after the custom lolipop rom is installed with safestrap.

if you have issues with safestrap seeing your externel sdcard, make sure you save anything from the externel sdcard if you have anything valuanle and then use the note 3 to format the sdcard, the safestrap will see it.

there or other ways to format the sdcard but that is the easeist working way.

I get it now. I finally got it to work. I owe you big time. For some reason, this information isn't show anywhere that much that you need to flash OC1 kernel for Lollipop Roms.

I did what you said and I installed the Rom, THEN installed the OC1 kernel. It took a while for the rom's first startup, but it worked.

SafeStrap can see my storage, my issue was that my computer wasn't recognizing it. Device Manager was showing an error. My computer recognizes it once I could actually get into my new Rom.

Thanks for the help!

My issue is this is supposedly said to be a workaround?

I have the AT&T 4.4.4 kit kat samsung galaxy note 3 but with the bootloader being locked it cant be rooted right?
so why is this considered a workaround when it says you need root?
Is there literally no way to root at all ?
