Hi,
i was following the steps properly on this link to install latest twrp.
https://twrp.me/leeco/leecole2.html

But, while wipe --> Advanced wipe --> i wiped all including system. Now i can see the storage space but when i mount, not able to see anything on my system.
In Twrp it says
Full Selinux support is present.
MTP Enabled
unable to locate storage device.
Now i wiped everything, nothing in this phone. could someone please help me to mount the device to system or any way i can load the ROM zip files into device to install.

My device is LE2 X526.

i tried changing the file system under advance wipe for Boot/Cache/System/data to FAT (i'm not sure which one was default one for LE2), i need help here too. I can see 6 file system Ext2, ext3, ext4, fat, exfat and fsfs. please let me know which one should i use and should i change to all 4 partition?
thanks for your help

I saw that twrp 3.2.2 was released but not sure if this version supports sprint htc one m8 devices.
I downloaded the .img file, put it on my sd card, booted up twrp, and the .img file is not 'seen' on the sd card... I'm running twrp 3.2.1 so not sure what the problem is

Hi,

TWRP for the M8 is unified for all variants (including Sprint). It has been for years. The issue you're having is unrelated to compatibility.

Hi there. First off, I've done a bunch of googling and searching with this thread, and have been unable to find the info necessary to overcome the issue I'm having. That said, here we go...

I've got a stock HTC One M8 (T-Mo) that I'm trying to get root on. I don't care about loading ROMs or anything like that. I've unlocked the bootloader through the htcdev.com method, and I've tried flashing the latest TWRP for this device, which as of writing, is 3.1.1.0. However, flashing that using 'fastboot flash recovery twrp.img' fails with the following error: "FAILED (remote: image update error)".

I've tried using 'fastboot erase cache' before flashing, and it doesn't make a difference.

I tried going back a few versions, and it looks like the highest version number I can flash and get an 'OK' status message from, is 2.8.4. The other versions I've tried (2.8.7, 3.0.0, 3.1.0) all fail with the same error above.

I figured that was fine, I'd just use the older 2.8.4 version... but it hangs when trying to enter recovery. So now I do not have a working recovery, and no idea how to fix this so that I can get TWRP successfully flashed and usable.

Any thoughts?

Have you solved your problem I have same problem please reply

Hello guys. I have the following problem regarding ERROR: 255 .

I decided to install a custom rom to my m8, as i am still using it. When i am trying to flash RR i get the error "Updater process ended with ERROR: 255 etc." I had flashed the 3.2.3-1 version. After the error i flashed 3.2.3-0 with no results. Ι have the .zip files(rom + gapps) on my sdcard. I read online about mounting SD-EXT but i can't check it on the MOUNT menu. I don't know if that matters. Currently my phone is wiped. I do have an adb full backup file but i want the custom rom.

Any suggestions?

Edit: After i posted i flashed versions 3.1.1-0 and 3.0.0-1 with the same error.

flash the latest version of twrp as you have did. check the downloaded rom md5 there might have been a download mismatch.
be sure to download from the right source of the rom and check with the md5. and flash again. btw you should have reported to the app thread.

Thank you for your answer. I restored the phone temporary with the adb nandroid backup but I will do the procedure again for sure cuz i don't plan on buying a new phone.

Can you provide me the link to the app thread in case the problem remains? I posted here cuz the "Support thread on xda-developers" link on the official website, prompted me here.

I accidentally hit the Factory Reset on the Bootloader then it rebooted into TWRP (v3.2.1) and wiped the data and Dalvik (this was normal procedure as Factory Reset actually should only wipe the Data and Cache, but not the internal storage), but to my shock, not only did it wipe the ROM but also formatted my external SD Card. but left the internal storage intact! The ROM still booted up normally (with the factory settings, off course) but the SD Card is now unreadable. It won't even mount to the phone saying the card is unformatted and asking if I wanted to format it then I followed the instruction but still the phone won't read the card and kept asking to format the card. I upgraded to TWRP 3.2.3 and installed Lineage Pie to see if that helped. I tried many recovery software on PC but to no avail.

This drove me mad as until now my SD Card is still useless and beyond recover.

Hi,

TWRP was updated to 3.2.3-1 to fix the issue you're referring to. That's why it's always important to have the latest version installed.

What are you trying to do, install via the windroid tool kit?

Just use fastboot to flash the recovery image.

can't fastboot TWRP, wrong img file?

Hello,

Ran into problems fastbooting TWRP img file on my m8. I have S-OFF and unlocked bootloader from Sunshine, but when I try to fastboot recovery .img file it gives me the BootMagic error.

Code:
PS C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot> ./fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

sending 'recovery' (6746 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.896s]
writing 'recovery'...

I downloaded this img file:
github.com/TeamWin/android_device_htc_m8/blob/android-6.0/recovery/dt.img

I tried downloading previous versions of the 6.0 img but the result was the same.

Here is the result of getvar all:

Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

-Updated TWRP source code to AOSP 7.1.2 (Dees_Troy)

    CHANGELOG for 3.1.0-0:

-adb backup to stream a backup directly to or from your PC, see documentation here: https://github.com/omnirom/android_bootable_recovery/commit/ce8f83c48d200106ff61ad530c863b15c16949d9 (bigbiff)

    CHANGELOG for 3.0.2-0:

-Fix a bug with the input box that affected masked inputs (passwords). This fixes decrypt of full device encryption on devices that support decrypt. This bug also impacts encrypted backups. Users are highly encouraged to stop using 3.0.1 if you use encrypted backups or if you need decrypt of data in TWRP.

-Language translation - It won’t be perfect and especially some languages that require large font files like Chinese & Japanese won’t be availble on most devices. Also some languages may only be partially translated at this time. Feel free to submit more translations to OmniROM’s Gerrit. (mostly by Dees_Troy)
-Flashing of sparse images - On select devices you will be able to flash some parts of factory images via the TWRP GUI (by HashBang173)
-Adopted storage support for select devices - TWRP can now decrypt adopted storage partitions from Marshmallow
-Reworked graphics to bring us more up to date with AOSP - includes support for adf and drm graphics (by Dees_Troy)
-SuperSU prompt will no longer display if a Marshmallow ROM is installed
-Update exfat, exfat fuse, dosfstools (by mdmower)
    -Update AOSP base to 6.0
-A huge laundry list of other minor fixes and tweaks

WARNING: This is our first release in a long time. We have a lot of new and somewhat aggressive changes in this new release. The changes to the graphics back-end may cause some devices to not boot up properly or have other display-related issues. If you are not in a position to reflash an older build of TWRP, then wait until you are or at least wait until others have tried the new version for your specific device. You don’t want to end up with a non-working recovery and have to wait several hours or days to get to a computer to be able to fix it.

Notes for themers: In addition to the udpated theme, we have introduced a theme version variable to the TWRP theme system. If the theme version does not match the version that TWRP expects, TWRP will reject the custom theme and load its stock theme. This change will ensure that people who update TWRP without updating their theme will still have a workable recovery. We have removed libjpeg support. The stock theme was only using a jpeg image for the splash / curtain. This change means that any custom themes will no longer be able to use jpeg images. It also means that tools used to repack recovery images with a different curtain / splash will need to be updated to use the new method.

Version number notes: For a while we’ve been using a 4 digit version number and reserved the 4th digit for device-specific updates. For instance, we find and fix a device-specific issue like decryption of data on Nexus 5, we would release that as a 2.8.7.1. After a while, some people would start asking where 2.8.7.1 was for other devices. So, going forward we have decided to change the numbering scheme to 3.0.0-2, etc. Our hope is that this version numbering scheme will more clearly identify that the 4th digit does not indicate a version change for the code base.

We need your help! The bulk of TWRP work is done by 3 people on a volunteer basis. We have pushed most of our device files to our github and we have a gerrit instance. If you have the ability, please help us maintain our official devices and/or add your device to our official device list. Thanks in advance!

    DOWNLOAD:
    1) Install the TWRP app from the Play Store or grab the apk from our website
    2) Open the app, agree to the terms, and enable root access
    3) Select TWRP Flash
    4) Search for your device and select the version you wish to download
    5) Once the download is complete, select the file (it's usually in your downloads folder) and then Flash Recovery
    OR:
Most devices can be updated quickly and easily within TWRP if you already have version 2.8.4.0 or higher installed
    1) Download the latest version from our website on your device
    2) Reboot to TWRP
    3) Hit Install and tap the "Images..." button in the lower right
    4) Browse to the location of the TWRP image on your device and select it
    5) Select recovery from the partition list and swipe to flash
    OR:
You can find more information and download links on our website.

    BUGS:
If you have found a bug, please consider posting it to our github issues log. It's pretty much impossible for us to keep up with the more than 40 threads that we have for the devices that we "directly" support. If you have a significant problem that cannot be answered in this thread, your best bet is to PM me directly, contact us via our website, or find us in our IRC channel below. If you see someone that's struggling, feel free to point it out to us. We need your help to help us keep track of all of our devices! Thanks!

Possible fix for missing os version:

    http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?p=53733669

Would be great if this could be fixed in official version.

Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app

    I modified ramdisk/etc/recovery.fstab like this:
    Code:
    # Android fstab file.
    #<src> <mnt_point> <type> <mnt_flags> <fs_mgr_flags>
    # The filesystem that contains the filesystem checker binary (typically /system) cannot
    # specify MF_CHECK, and must come before any filesystems that do specify MF_CHECK

    # Internal Storage
    /boot emmc /dev/block/mmcblk0p42 flags=backup=1
    /system         ext4        /dev/block/mmcblk0p45  flags=backup=1;wipeingui;
    /cache ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p46 flags=backup=1;wipeingui;wipeduringfactoryreset;canencryptbackup=1
    /data ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p47 flags=backup=1;wipeingui;wipeduringfactoryreset;canencryptbackup=1;userdataencryptbackup=1

    # because /proc/emmc is blank in recovery, we should add this here. Set backup to 0
    [COLOR="Blue"]#/misc           emmc        /dev/block/mmcblk0p24  flags=backup=0[/COLOR]

    # External Storage
    /external_sd vfat /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /dev/block/mmcblk1 flags=display="Micro SDcard";storage;wipeingui;removable
    /usb-otg vfat /dev/block/sda1 /dev/block/sda flags=display="USB-OTG";storage;wipeingui;removable

I confirm that OS version no longer disappears in hboot.

Haven't had an update in here for a while.

Hopefully with the next official version of TWRP, all decryption methods (yes, this includes stock Sense) will be supported! @nkk71 is still putting the finishing touches on the patch, and it has to be reviewed by the TWRP team, but if all goes well, the support will be included. I'm not sure how many people are still using stock Sense on this device, but I figure it'll be nice to have the support anyway :).
