You have an MD5 sum for this? Its definitely different than the one I flashed twice before finding out that was a bad file :) Just wanted to be sure this third time.

There you go.

Check OP for MD5 sums.

I tried asking this question in the Community ROM thread but it hasn't got answered so far, maybe it makes more sense in here. Anyway, I am currently running the Community ROM and CWM 2.5.1.x and would like to upgrade to CWM3. Once I flash CWM3 over the existing CWM do I have to create a new update.zip file or will the one that I have still work right?

You wont need an update.zip with this, this is a permanent recovery. The only way this recovery will go away is if you have a stock kernel.

Ok, so I just flash the newer one and then I am good to go? Out of curiosity, if you boot in to recovery via the 3-button method, how would you get to CWM3 without an update.zip file?

If I'm not mistaken, this overwrites the stock recovery in the boot partition becoming permanent. No stock recovery=no need for update.zip on the sd.

Ok, that would make sense if that is the case. If that is the case, why wouldn't CWM 2.5.1.x done that as well?

It should have. The first time I flashed the red cwm, the last time I used the odin file to restore red recovery after the ed01 ota. Both were permanent. I now have the latest cwm from this thread. Still permanent...

Hmmm, I guess I never really tried the 3-button method after flashing 2.5.1.x so maybe it did all along.

EDIT 4.24:
Updated to latest recovery included in jt's kernel source.
Should fix the RFS errors when trying to wipe anything
The only not found error you'll get is sd-ext, because we don't have one.
ADB *DOES* work in this one too.
...
I just noticed the "sd-ext" error when selecting "Wipe Dalvik Cache" prior to flashing the new imnuts kernel... Can I assume said cache is being properly-wiped and the sd-ext message is harmless?

Oh - and does anyone know if the oft-repeated suggestion to wipe cache and dalvik 3 times before flashing a new ROM is necessary (or anything more than folklore)?

Thanks.

The sd-ext error is normal. Since we dont have one. So yeah, the message is harmless.
