I'm on LineageOS on Samsung A5 2017. I wrongfully flashed the latest TWRP for A7 2017 instead of A5. Now it is stuck on TWRP recovery, what should I do?

Hold down Power and Volume Down button for about 5-7 secs until the phone restarts and directly press Power, Vol down and Home Button again to boot into download mode and flash the correct TWRP version.
If that doesnt work, wait until the battery is empty and boot to download mode.

It is maybe dumb question... But what is point of encrypting system (in my case LineageOS) if anyone can access to files through TWRP? There is no password, nothing. Just boot to recovery and all my files are easy accessible.

If you haven't set a passcode, there's nothing to ask from twrp.
You've got an encryption without a passcode. Set it at the security passcode setting and you will ask for in twrp.

Thanks! The TWRP install guide listed on the first page of this thread worked perfectly for me with a Galaxy A5 (2017) on the latest official update level of a German Telekom branded stock ROM.
Just reporting this because after reading so many howtos, it was never clear which one would actually still by working as of today.

Kind regards
Florian

Hi Florian,

Can you show me the version of your latest official update level of a German Telekom branded stock ROM. Which Android version and bootloader number are you using now.

Thanks.

Hi,

Has any body installed this version of TWRP successfully on the newest stock firmware A520FXXUGCTI9 from Samsung.

I understand that A520FXXUGCTI9 is Android 8, but I am afraid of TWRP 3.3.1 can not be flashed under UG bootloader.

Thanks in advanced.

Hi @dunhill_

My device is in the stock firmware A520FXXSGCTJ2, and i can not install twrp.

In developer options, there is NOT EVEN an option to enable OEM.

Could you tell me some way to install twrp?

@corsicanu, my Galaxy A7 (2017) bootloops after updating to TWRP 3.6.0. Only reverting back to TWRP 3.5.2 eliminates the bootloop.

To fix the theme/langue/date in twrp for encrypted devices there is a solution with android kitchen. Can this solution be integrated in the stable official version? Or is there more to it then just adjust the location of these parameters outside of the encryped device?

Hey, I was able to install TWRP without any issues, but the problem is that it shows everything as 0 MB. When I ADB pushed the DM Verity file, it showed up in the file explorer in TWRP, but when I tried to flash it said "unable to mount/data." I tried everything and even reflashed the official firmware. In official recovery, it says "unable to mount/misc partition." What is the issue here? I have already done the OEM unlock switch. I'm not able to boot into bootloader/fast boot as doing it from official recovery just boots into the system.
