TO GO TO DOWNLOAD MODE: shut down the phone. When phone is shut off then press volume up and down together and while keeping them pressed connect your phone to your pc..you'll see it starting in download mode

To unlock bootloader:
you must start your phone normally. (if it was already configured, re initialize it) . When asked, configure wifi, ignore google configuration and so on BUT when its asked by google, you must configure the pin code.
Then ignore the rest.
When configuration is finished, open Settings. Go to the last section: "about the phone " and open it.
Locate "information about the software". Open it. Locate "Version number".
Click 7 times on it to activate developpers options. You'll see a message saying its activated.
Then go back to Settings you will notice a new section called "developpers options".
Open it. You'll see OEM unlock option. If not activated, do it. AND activate usb debugging too.
Then restart the phone. IF it worked normally you'll see a message on start screen about bootloader.
Shut down the phone. And start it in download mode as i explained previously
lauch Odin with administrator privilege
Et voilà

It mentioned on twrp.me that we should pre-root a twrp img before flashing it to a magisk rooted stock rom. So is this pre-root necessary? Will we lose magisk without it? If necessary, how to do it? twrp img has no boot.img and magisk patch failed.

Hi @corsicanu

I used to use your work since the "hades rom" release for the Samsung Galaxy A5 and recognized your amazing work.
I just wanted to know if the release for the note 10 plus Exynos with android 11 supports One UI 3.1 latest release or if I should pass on this release or wait for a newer release ?

Thank again for your works and stay safe ! ❤
(Sorry again for my bad english 😅)

After booting into recovery I can't normal boot anymore, the phone goes straight into TWRP every time. There is any way to go back without having to reinstall the system?

Hi guys. I have a note 10 plus 5g N976B with android 10. I've tried for several days to install twrp or to root the phone with magisk but odin always fails. I found 2 ways to flash twrp> to patch the tar file with magisk and flash it with odin or flash 2 different files with odin, but odin always fails to flash.
the same thing happens if I patch the AP file with magisk in order to root the phone and flash it with odin. Odin blocks in recovery and i should force-close it. I tried everything I knew, to reinstall rom, factory reset, I tried different files, no success. I really want a custom rom on my device and I am stuck here. @corsicanu can u understand where can be the problem? thanks in advance to all

I found the problem. It is because the new stock firmware has the inside files with lz4 extension. I must get rid of the extension and I can root my phone or flash twrp.

I'm not understanding this.
My N976B is on OneUI 3.1 Android 11. If I complete the TWRP install via ODIN by following the instructions (including "avb disabled vbmeta .tar" and "multidisabler-samsung-2"), and I also want Root, would I be able to just flash Magisk trough TWRP as normal? Or do I still need to do this pre-root a TWRP image thing (that I don't understand)? If so, how?

I appreciate your help. :)

I have been rooting 10 years and even rooted my last NOTE 10+ ..dropped it and got my new one off Swappa today. I am in the same boat. I unlocked the BL and TWRP will not flash because it says OEM is still locked?? Thanks I'll try this

Flashed twrp and vmeta files with Odin as per the guide. Tried multiple times. The device is unable to boot into recovery. Boot loops into download mode instead, no mater the button combination vol up and power.
Any advice?

Wooo hooo, FINALLY I think this is it! Flashed Dr Ketan's lastest android ROM and it's running perfectly! I had a few bumps along the way with restoring titanium backups but thankfully I still have my old phone and was able to restore on that and then backup using Swift all done through external micro HCSD card, running latest version of Magisk & TWRP, no more annoying combo buttons, Life is good!!!

Big thanks to Dr. Ketan again and you - Triplest!

    FAQ
Q: Can i use this recovery with other firmware then mentioned in compatibility?
A: Only with same Android version and only if you don't plan to boot rooted with TWRP (some kernels deliver root prebuilt in kernel), or Rollback protection will kick in and you won't be able to pass the lockscreen.

    Q: Where do i get vbmeta.img?
A: From here, download the one you need according to install instructions.

Q: TWRP can't mount data partition, what to do?
A: Make sure you formatted data partition.

Q: Phone is not booting even after 20 minutes
A: Try to reboot. If still not booting, make sure you flashed multidisabler zip / formatted data partition.

Q: How to format data partition?
    A:
    ymlnQUE.jpg

Q: Phone is showing only Samsung logo
A: Try to reboot. If still not booting, consider installing an older TWRP build or a more recent firmware. If you still don't succeed, post here some details about your device and previous firmware and we might be able to help.

Q: Why do i need to format data partition?
A: Because old firmware encrypted your data partition and new rom can't decrypt and use that content / root needs access to data partition to place misc files / phone not booting after flashing root until data partition gets formatted.

Android 11 TWRP is up already for a while, in case you didn't notice it yet grab it from twrp.me.
Don't forget to use targeted TWRP for your android version and release, read more about compatibility in second post of this thread.
    Regards!
