I've never had to do a "factory reset" with a stock ROM and custom recovery, so I don't know, but when I do it and then I want to go to TWRP, only the Android mascot with a red sign shows up. Is that normal?
Yup, that's perfectly normal for the stock recovery...

Also, is there any way TWRP can make a Nandroid Backup on the External SD Card?
Yup, while making a backup through TWRP, you can select where to store that backup to, ie, internal storage or external sd...

Hope that helps... :good:

Here is Your CWM go flash away right Now!!!!

No probs man, but can you please elaborate the differences between official TWRP and ports of it??? Do the ported versions miss any features???

OFF COURSE MAN, cwm would be great....
But rather than me wanting CWM, I'll request you to build CWM if your time permits...:good:

Btw, whats the difference between cwm and twrp??? which one is better?? I see you prefer TWRP....
CWM Recovery :p:p:p:p

Thanks, but with TWRP hitting stable (removal of touch bug) and getting official release I'll stick with TWRP...
This recovery is just stable as a rock now...
Just the settings are not sticking...
I looked into your issue, and the settings are sticking here. Can you please run "fix permissions" and see if that helps?

As for the clock, I may know how to fix it, but not now. I have other stuff to do.

Can you please explain what's that or how to do that???

That's ok... But will it get fixed in future releases???

@cybojenix Never mind, got it...
Will check and report back ASAP... :good:
Btw, do I need to run fix permissions once or everytime after I change settings???

@cybojenix I've seen that even with fix permissions enabled in TWRP the settings do not stick and revert back to default settings after say 10 times of boot....
Is this normal or a bug???
FYI, I've used TWRP v2.7.1.0 from the TWRP website and currently am running v2.7.2.0 from your DevHost mirror, but unfortunately this problem persists in both the builds...
After fixing permissions, the settings stick for a number of boots but again after some time they revert back to stock...
Say when I restore a nandroid backup or flash a new custom ROM...

I am using F2FS file system in Nexus 7 and I have to say that it has rejuvenated the device. Everything is a lot smoother. Can we expect F2FS in Moto E? Is a F2FS enabled kernel the only thing needed?

@cybojenix i flashed twrp v2.7.2 in my stock firmware nd i found that my stock rom started giving me 'lags', earlier i thought it just seems but i verified , i played a 1080p video(i know device don't support) which was lagging but plays smoothly on stock without twrp...So it seems something is not stable in twrp. Now i reflashed my firmware(without flashing twrp) nd now everything is fine. And can any i help me to change time in Twrp? ☺??

which recovery you have installed has nothing to do with how your rom runs. recovery and rom running are to different instances.
