Hi guys,

I have a query, I just installed SHRP recovery and flashed a custom ROM (EvoX) and again flashed the SHRP recovery again to use it for OTA. But I just noticed that it made a backup of both Slot and B why is this done and can I flash it back if I need the original boot again??:confused::confused::confused:

Please help me out.
Whenever you flash EvolutionX rom, SHRP recovery is automatically flashed (every package of EvolutionX rom contains SHRP so that you don't have to flash recovery again and again) and I don't know anything about the backup thing (never done that via recovery)
Original boot ? you mean TWRP recovery ?

After formatting data you need always to reboot into system (not recovery). The sequence will be:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Flash TWRP (or SHRP)
3. Reboot to system
4. Reboot to recovery (take note of your slot)
5. Flash custom ROM
6. Change the slot
7. Reboot into recovery
8. Flash Gapps
9. Format data
10. Reboot into system (and configure)
11. Reboot into recovery
12. Flash Magisk
13. Reboot into system

Not able to flash recovery

I am on the latest stock android patch, probably that's why not able to flash recovery.
I am able to boot into recovery using platform-tools. But the files in /sdcard seems to be encrypted (judging by the codes shown instead of readable folder names).
Could someone please help me suggest any recovery which supports latest stock android 10 with decryption?
Is there a way around this?

Thanks in advance!

I came from stock, booted into recovery with fastboot and then sideloaded the installer with adb. Try it that way. May you remove any pin, pattern and prints before

Tried, but got the following error. Working on Mac. So may be that's the issue.

adb devices
List of devices attached
a1033bdc5a15 recovery

adb usb
restarting in USB mode

adb sideload SHRP_v2.3.1_laurel_sprout-235002072020.zip
adb: sideload connection failed: closed
adb: trying pre-KitKat sideload method...
adb: pre-KitKat sideload connection failed: closed

On further research, only resolution I found was to upgrade the recovery.

Got it to work. My mistake was not checking the phone. It was not booting into sideload.
Still facing issues with decryption. Please find attached screenshot for the same. Looks like latest android update has broken decryption.

Hello everyone. I have tried using the restore feature without success. I have looked through these threads and have not seen clear instruction. Would someone share an item by item list on how to properly restore a backup with SHRP. Thank you.

We will assume the backup was taken with SHRP in the forest place.

Hi, I installed this recovery on my phone using the command "fastboot flash boot SHRP_v2.3.1_laurel_sprout-STOCK_PATCHED.img" and it worked perfectly. Then, after that, I installed my custom ROM and when I restarted the phone, everything worked fine.

BUT I would like to keep this recovery (skyhawk) installed after flashing the ROM. In my understanding, right after flashing the ROM, before restarting, I should flash the ZIP file of the recovery (skyhawk) right? But I cant find the ZIP file to flash, only the SHRP_v2.3.1_laurel...img file! Where do I download the ZIP so I can flash it right after flashing the ROM?

That's pretty amazin: twrp does not work on Android 10 on xiaomi mi a3 but skyhawk works perfectly! Really great!

I just have a question: after flashing my custom ROM (using skyhawk) and rebooting the phone... if later I decide to install magisk using skyhawk, everytime I go into fastboot mode and type "fastboot flash boot SHRP_v2.3.1_laurel_sprout-STOCK_PATCHED.img" my phone will never more boot to my ROM, it will boot loop.

So how do I flash the skyhawk recovery to my phone, after some time using the ROM, without getting into bootloop?

It fails to decrypt data using pin or account password. And formatting data doesn't work, it just gets stuck and I have to force reboot the phone.
