Somebody reported that the method: first flash Magisk 20.4, then immediately 21 and reboot worked for him. I didn't try personally since I'm on A10 still

Sent from my tucana using XDA Labs

First, install this Magisk zip in TWRP => Magisk_11.zip
https://mega.nz/file/fM1GgD6C#IS-2YgWNGKVT1I3gNXz2I2B2FW1IU1cCbErI2oxZ8eM
Then directly install Magisk v21.0 => Magisk-v21.0.zip (IMPORTANT: I don't know if the new 21.1 version is working or not on MIUI Android 11 ROMs)
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v21.0/Magisk-v21.0.zip

EDIT: If you can't find Magisk Manager app after reboot, it can be installed separately here => MagiskManager-v8.0.3.apk
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/manager-v8.0.3/MagiskManager-v8.0.3.apk
Done! You can reboot your phone.

Hi there,
I installed orangefox without problem.
I flashed magisk.

[...]

Any idea ?

Edit : forget my question, everything is working fine. It is just that the UX has not been reviewed and the text on the buttons is very unclear and confusing.

I have the latest release, had encryption on but when I loaded recovery, it did not show me decryption screen, the pattern, and couldn't install a magisk module,

Disabled screen lock and any encryption, still load to an encrypted sdcard.

Gonna try to install recovery again

Update: seems to be an issue w new 12.1.3 eu rom. Whichever recovery I use, encountered the same error, internal storage is always encrypted and no way to decrypt it.

Hm okay, but as you said, it might be a ROM issue.

Does this recovery backup persist partition? Is it possible to flash linage based roms? Does the recovery of full nandroid backup work? With twrp I got issues after recovery ...

Seems like i have to choose force decrypt option (iirc) in recovery, it shows normal now when I boot into recovery.
Is there a Force Decrypt option somewhere? I can't seem to find it.
Very odd behavior though...
If I boot OrangeFox from fastboot ( fastboot boot ./recovery.img ), OF asks for a password and decrypts & works well.
If I boot from the OrangeFox I flashed ( same image, same directory...
fastboot flash recovery ./recovery.img ) then it just goes straight into OF without asking for a password; and doesn't decrypt my sdcard.
Does anyone have any ideas about forcing OF to ask for a password?
Or other solutions? Or anyone understand why it is doing this?
Thanks for your time.
