Add TWRP on custom ROM

I already installed LineageOS 16 and Gapps on my Redmi 3 s. I had some issues with it but finally I made it.

But now there are updates for Lineage and I can download them directly on my phone but not install them because recovery is missing apparently.

• Can I download twrp (github.com/TeamWin/android_device_xiaomi_land)
• or do I need this one (dl.twrp.me/land/)
• and use this manual (twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomiredmi3s.html Fastboot Install Method (No Root Required):) to add TWRP without losing data on my phone.

I just want to easy update Lineage all the time from my phone.

Maybe a simple question but I'm new to all of this.

Just download and flash latest twrp 3.4.0.0 from https://dl.twrp.me/land/
And then flash via fastboot with

fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.4.0-0-land.img

I'm on los 16 as well and using twrp, download and install via fastboot method. There won't be any issues, in future twrp updates you can directly install via twrp recovery it self.

So it was like I imagined. I did what you wrote here and it worked. It was with some issues because I don't understand everything but starting to get the hang of it :laugh:

After I installed TWRP and did a reboot it asked for my pattern to confirm but the pattern was not responding. After a minute or so it started responding and after that the update went well. So I'v got a working configuration now where I can update to new updates fairly easy.

So I'm happy now and that Lineage works very well. When official LineageOS17 comes out for the Redmi 3S -if it ever will- I want to upgrade to that from 16. I'll try to figure out that when the time is there. If I'v any issues than I'll be back

I have a issue in latest TWRP 3.4.0.0 time and date is wrong
note: i tried to change time zone and delete persist/time
also flashed older version still not working.
But after complete clean stock rom flash with old version is working good.
Hope you will fix soon
