I install manually the v2.2.2.1 over the existing v2.2.0+ via goo manager.

No problems everything works!

_____________________________________________________________

After that i absolutely wanted to know whether the most recent version works.

So I allso installed now via "install open recovery script" in goo manager, the latest twrp ver-2.5.0.0-a100.img and it worked.

Among other is new when you start recovery the twrp starting screen is now on the proper size :good: .
So what we said to do worked? That's good to know.

Yeah, sorta keep forgetting that in order to use goomanager to flash the latest-n-greatest TWRP you do need some version of TWRP already flashed :p

My results so far with 2.5.0.0:

Backed up my current ROM (CMFLEX 1.3). Went smoothly. Rebooted and getting "root permission seems to be lost" error despite root being intact and working fine on my new CMFLEX 1.3 install. I know this same issue prompted up when the Note 2 (Verizon i605) went to 2.5.x.x but thankfully its been fixed. Can't remember off hand how it was fixed but I'll try to see if I can find out how it was fixed on that device so I can pass it along.

Other then that 2.5.0.0 is running great on my end here. ROM install worked completely fine including the AURORA based apps installer for CMFLEX 1.3. The new and easier way to wipe is a nice time saver.

By the way for those wondering I grabbed 2.5.0.0 with the GooManager app. I then had to manually install it from there using ADB. Pretty easy stuff even for a guy like me. :)

File name on GooManager is openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-a100.img if that helps any! Good luck! Maybe the main post could be updated or a new thread could be started with info on 2.5.0.0 to make it easier for folks to find it?

I'm unable to find OpenRecovery in the devs list, although I can access openrecovery's file list by searching for "openrecovery", but which IMG file do I download out of the current version number? I see "jfltevzw", "jflteatt", "jfltexx", "jflteusc", "jfltetmo"...

Hi All
I just flashed the boot loader after having this A100 rooted for almost a year now and was ready to flash this recovery. I had a couple of questions first. I have a fully rooted A500 and am usually using the zip file from my ext. SD card. I see the image posted here and wanted to know if I can just flash it from stock recovery?
Or is it better for me to just use ADB to flash this. Also if I can flash it from stock recovery what would be the steps. Thanks much for your time.

Can't flash anything non Acer from stock recovery, you'll need to fast boot flash it the first time, after that you can flash recovery from recovery.

Alternately you can use the goo app to install it for you without a PC. Just make sure you're boot loader unlocked first.

I kind of thought that was what I was reading but am a little thick in the head sometimes. Got it all done without a hitch and am in the process of backing up my stock crap before installing that nice looking Green Rom. Thanks for your quick reply.
Just wanted to say this Rom is sweet. Thanks so much. Runs real smooth right off the get go.

I wanted to share something real strange that happened to my last night when I unlocked the boot loader. I don't know how this could be related to the unlocking but after I finished and restarted the tablet it got so unresponsive that I thought something went wrong. So I restarted the tablet again and same thing. I noticed at this time that the download arrow was active and everything was being updated. I mean everything. So I shut off my Wi-Fi and a whole bunch of errors popped up for all the programs that had been interrupted form downloading. That is what was hanging up my tablet. Is that weird or what. But I did the rom flash and this baby runs soooo good. And thanks for the help.

Play store updating or app installing in general lags the system pretty bad, just let it update then use it as normal. I notice it even on quad core beast DNA.

I know that is true but it was weird that the store thought everything on my tablet needed updating all at once. Never seen it do that before.

Well its me again! I was getting ready to flash A JB rom so I always make sure before I use the wipe menu that I can see and access my install files and my backup files. So I did that and after I did the wipe. I don't see anymore install zip files. I have spent much time looking. I did see my backup files in another partition but in the install partition nothing. I'm tempted to try and switch over to CWM as I've never ran into anything like this with that option. I'm in the process of looking for a zipped CWM file now but would rather figure out this problem. I know I have been able to see files in the install partition before that's how I flashed this thing originally. I will also add I do see all my other files on the external sd card just no install files.

Well I figured it out. I used the reset to default and it fixed my issue. I don't know what I did to change a setting but I will know what to do now.
Thanks again.

TWRP Windows Installer 2.6.0.0 - http://d-h.st/oui

TWRP Linux Installer 2.6.0.0 - http://d-h.st/hRX

TWRP 2.6.0.0 IMG file - http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/a100/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.0.0-a100.img

I don't have Linux on my current system so I can't test the Linux installer. The Windows Installer worked perfectly on my end here running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Everything from ROM install, wiping, backup, etc works on 2.6.0.0 on my A100 as well. I do get the "fix root" prompt after installing CYANOSAKI_FLEX_V2.0 but other then that it works as expected.

Change Log info - http://www.teamw.in/project/twrp2

Thanks to linuxsociety and everyone else for keeping the dev work going on the A100. This is my small way of helping out so I hope others find this useful. :)

Teamwin Recovery Project for A100 version 2.2.2.1
    -godmachine81 release-

    SOURCES: Available via Github

Download and Install via the official supported method by TWRP

Install Goo Manager app from Play Store, Open Goo Manager, In the Menu in top right corner go to "Install OpenRecovery Script" Follow Instructions On screen :D

Download Automated Installer (Windows / Linux):
    Linux Installer - 2.2.2.1
    Windows Installer - 2.2.2.1

    Download IMG:
    TWRP v2.2.2.1 main mirror

    Download Flashable Zip: (Upgrade Only)
    TWRP 2.2.2.1 Flashable Upgrade

    Updated TWRP release features:
    • Uses a custom recovery kernel based off of my v1.5 standard kernel with most unneeded features taken out, i.e. governors, schedulers, networking, misc devices, and most things not needed for recovery operations
    • Kernel and TWRP includes patches aimed at brick prevention
    • Resolution is set at native 1024x600
    • Very fast actions and touch response
    • Backward compatibility with previous releases of TWRP
    • Compatibility with all Ice Cream Sandwhich and Jelly Bean ROMs for the A100(HoneyComb should be compatible too, however currently untested)
    • All previous features from TWRP that you may be familiar with are included

    Mount Point Information:
    • External Storage - mountpoint= /external_sdcard
    • Internal Storage - mountpoint = /sdcard

    Instructions:

    Automated Installation (Windows/Linux):
    • Most importantly you need to have all drivers required for adb and fastboot working on your OS, this shouldn't be a concern for linux users, however it may be for Windows users as it is picky about adb drivers.
    • Download the above Automated Install .zip file for your operating system
    • Extract the contents of the Zip to a location on your PC's hard drive
    • Change to the extracted directory's contents.
    • Run the installer; On windows you may just double click the install-windows.bat file, on linux you need to run the install-linux.sh script
      example linux installation commands:
      Code:
      cd a100_twrp_installer_linux
      Code:
       bash ./install-linux.sh
    • Read the on screen information of the progress. If you get any errors you will need to resolve the issue or try one of the following alternative install methods.
    • If you need more detailed installation instructions please read the INSTALL file included inside the .zip

    Manual installation:

    1. Download the .img file for the recovery
    2. Connect your A100 device to USB on your PC
    3. While your A100 is booted in either Android or Recovery just enter the following into your PCs command prompt/shell:
      Code:
       adb reboot bootloader
    4. Now flash the image - at the command prompt/shell enter:
      Code:
      fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.2.2.1-a100.img
    5. Reboot the device - again from the command prompt/shell:
      Code:
       fastboot reboot
    6. Enter Recovery mode - While tablet shuts off, hold the Vol - (down) button until you see the screen saying "loading recovery kernel"
    7. Checkout the new TWRP build and enjoy!

Flashable Upgrade Instructions: (flash just like you would any other .zip, but here are instructions anyway)

    • Download the Flashable ZIP above
    • Save to a location on your tablets internal or external memory
    • Boot to recovery
    • Choose the file a100_twrp_upgrade_2.2.2.1.zip in the install menu
    • Swipe to install
    • Wait and DO NOT Disconnect your A100!
    • When finished, go back to Main menu - choose Reboot - and Reboot Recovery
    • Enjoy the Official 2.2.2.1 TWRP Release!

If you would like to help out with the continuance of my kernel development and other goodies for your Acer Iconia Tab please consider a small donation to help out with bills, baby formula, wipes, diapers, etc. All donations are very appreciated by my family and I! Thanks :D
