Who is it you are talking to?

I do not know who he is talking to, but I'm jumping in here to ask if there is a way to unlock the bootloader of the Note 10 plus Snapdragon SM-N975W? I don't mean to bother anybody so if there is a link someone who could provide me with I greatly appreciate it. I thought I had already found it but Odin fails writing with red error around 3/4 of the way through. I'm not sure if you can root Snapdragon model but if somebody has a link that can help me please post it, it would be greatly appreciated and I wouldn't need to bother anybody as I have rooted many phones but cannot seem to find a way to Root this one. I have found articles on other sites all right, but no matter what version of Odin I use it does not complete the process of installing custom recovery which is thus preventing me from rooting the phone. Thanks in advance, signing off lost in Canada lol. Plus I cannot seem to get a successful bootloader unlock which I'm guessing is causing the error. ??

i have N9750OZS1ASI3. after rooted, I couldn't find the right kernel to get camera working. I have tried these 3 kernels, and none of them is working. WETA_Kernel_N9750_2.1_SJ5, WETA_Kernel_N9750_3.0_SK1, and WETA_Kernel_N9750_3.0_SK1_permissive. Can anyone point me to right direction? or which firmware is working these 3 kernels?

Just update your firmware. You aren't going to get continued support being on old firmware.

But I suppose you have a reason to stay on pie.

Camera drivers are updated all the time.

is this the same with android 10 on sm n9750?

TWRP installation changed

N9750 TWRP 3.4.0 Downloads
N9700 TWRP 3.4.0 Downloads
WETA Kernel

* Unlock bootloader first
* Reboot recovery and reboot system now behave normally after flashing.
* No more patching in Magisk manager at all.
* Be aware, first clean boot, hangs on building cache, hard reboot after waiting about 3min and you'll boot past this
* If simply updating your existing TWRP, v9 upwards, you only need to flash the TWRP.img in recovery. No need to reflash kernel and Magisk.

Process from bone stock
1. Flash TWRP.tar in Odin
2. Reboot directly into TWRP
3. Format data, reboot recovery
4. Flash kernel
5. Flash encryption disabler.
6. Unmount system, Flash Magisk.
7. Reboot system

Process from existing TWRP
1. Flash TWRP.img to recovery
2. Reboot recovery
3. Flash Kernel zip
4. Unmount system and Flash Magisk zip
5. Reboot system

You seem to be the man with the answers so... as was stated will not work on locked bootloader phones "USA" variants. I have one purchased here in Canada and it's a snapdragon model on latest update. Since its snapdragon and model SM-N975W and no OEM/BOOTLOADER Unlock in development menu, im guessing I'm F&#<÷D and I have what's being called "USA" branded model. Can you tell me im wrong and I can install twrp using this method? Dying for root on this phone but afraid its not going to happen.

You can Unlock and Root.. Check the last few pages here, https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...loader-unlock-and-root-method.4006249/page-22

I am going to downgrade back to 2.1 (now I have 2.5). Fortunately the modem is the same.
But the procedure of this rooting is complicated for me. There is no statement if this is needed:

1. Flash TWRP.tar in Odin
2. Reboot directly into TWRP
3. Flash Kernel zip ------------------------------ is custom kernel really needed?
4. Flash Magisk zip -------------------------------- is it really needed?
5. Flash encryption disabler if desired.
6. Reboot system (not recovery)

My goal is to have just a root and stock kernel. Magisk makes sometimes an installation of modules easier but I can live without it. Question is if I can skip these both.

Присоединяюсь к вопросу. Можно попробовать установить крайнюю версию TWRP и ядра.

Translation: I subscribe to the question. You can try to install the latest version of TWRP and the kernel.

Android 11 for SM-N9750 is now available for download. Will you be doing new versions of your files for this firmware?

Thanks
@ afaneh92 TWRP works with Android 11 - backup does not work. He will post update soon.

I have modded @Mentalmuso WETA mods for Android 11. Only 3minit battery & network traffic - no audio mods.

WETAmod_3.04_N10Plus.zip
Needs to be installed as a module using Magisk.

    TWRP installation changed

    Download folder

It is now possible to reboot rooted and reboot recovery without the button combo. To achieve this we need to flash custom kernel to boot.img and flash magisk via TWRP. TWRP now, should not be patched with magisk either. In the downloads folder, is a kernel zip for your device. This needs to be flashed in TWRP followed by the flashing of Magisk zip (19.4 recommended.)

After that, I would reflash an unpatched TWRP.img from within TWRP to recovery partition. This eliminates magisk from the recovery side of things, which isn't needed anymore.

    Process from stock (rooted)
    1. Flash TWRP.tar in Odin
    2. Reboot directly into TWRP
    3. Flash Kernel zip
    4. Flash Magisk zip
    5. Flash encryption disabler if desired.
    6. Reboot system (not recovery)

    Process from existing TWRP
    1. Flash unpatched TWRP.img to recovery
    2. Reboot recovery
    3. Flash Kernel zip
    4. Flash Magisk zip
    5. Reboot system (not recovery
