What firmware are you on? What device? I can't help without crucial info like thisI am afraid but after flashing with Odin in AP tablet boot well but after going into Recovery SD Card is 0 byte and get boot loop rebooting system.
I even tried to format data after flashing TWRP no go.
I am rooted with the magisk method link below and installed TWRP after rooting

So it looks something is wrong
You patched the AP file etc? I'm.not sure why you followed that guide. Snapdragon devices don't need to do that. I'm not saying that recovery hasn't borked something, but you should follow the method outlined in post #2 or in the telegram thread. Magisk is able to patch and boot from the boot.img on this device after simply flashing magisk.zip from twrp.I am afraid but after flashing with Odin in AP tablet boot well but after going into Recovery SD Card is 0 byte and get boot loop rebooting system.

Did you root by patching AP with magisk manager?Pretty sure this is going to be the same as mine - SM-T830 on the just released Android 10.
If you could that would be great, I'll need to know if I have to tell t830 owners to wait, t835 has tested fine and I can't imagine why t830 would be any different.I also followed that guide, figured they changed things in 10. When my wifes Samsung was last updated the AP patch method became the only way to root so it made sense.
I'll just wipe things and do it the way I always have with 9
Hello MentalmusoDid you root by patching AP with magisk manager?
Just like I mentioned to the other recent users, why are you using that method to root? I don't state that as a method to use on this device anywhere in this thread.Hello Mentalmuso
Just a question to ask yourself. Once I patched the AP file with magisk, I replace it in odin and I add the CSC and BL files. But when do I use TWRP and how do I install it? Thank you for your rest.![]()
Thanks for reporting this, I just want to get a better idea of what's going on here so I can fix it.Very odd, but every backup I have tried to make and restore on the latest version fails on the System partition with the "extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR: 255" message
Of course this failure means I have to start over and wipe/reload the system again.
Older backups still restore just fine
I just copied a version of the one I use for all my devices into the download folder.OK, I will follow post #2
What is the new Encryption disabler if there is a new one or V2 is still OK
Thanks
That is correct. It always fails in the system restore. The android 9 backups restore just fine and will boot, but they end up looping - I'm guessing since the base is already on 10?Thanks for reporting this, I just want to get a better idea of what's going on here so I can fix it.
You can successfully make a backup of Android 10 system, with twrp 3.4 but not restore it?
Though you can restore an older backup of system, presumably of Android 9 system, using twrp 3.4 still?
Does that Android 9 restore allow you to boot? Just curious
