Sh##. My fault. You was talking about kernel and then this message.
So anyway. Plz fix your manual because it is quite unclear how to flash kernel.

You need to connect to internet, I know that much. The device will call back to Samsung servers.

I did have one instance where it took a few minutes before it showed up. I would flash the whole firmware though, is there a reason why you didn't?

And my computer is connected to internet so on this cas that should be something else.

Because the tablet boots, connects to internet, checks Samsung servers, disables the KG/RMM lock. This then enables the oem switch to be present in dev settings. This is all system and kernel stuff. With no switch present, it will trip KG/RMM causing an instance of needing to full wipe and flash back to stock. It's to protect an owner from theft of device and sensitive data.

That's all I know in a crude sense.

Success here so yes internet is needed.

All perfect, I apreciate the help.

Btw: you cannot get in DL mode with touch combination. You need to turn off the tablet press and hold vol up and vol down and connect the usb cable and wait for few seconds.

Sofar everything works (1 week use), I also finally got Galaxy Wearable working :)
Updated Magisk aswell, no problemo, except
Bluetooth is buggy (after disconnecting the device is ALWAYS forgotten), but you can get that fixed by downloading libsecure_storage ... by IanmacD on Magisk

You can flash through Odin on this screen aswell. Had this aswell. Though if Odin fails the first time, just try again, but unplug and "restart" beforehand.
I had this about 4 times, 2 times I needed up to 3 attempts without it failing.

You can flash TWRP two ways, either directly from an existing TWRP install, using the linked TWRP.img file. Or you can flash using Odin and the TWRP.tar file.

You will need a custom kernel with dm-verity disabled to be able to boot up afterwards. You will also need to disable encryption and format data to be able to read from the sdcard (encryption isn't supported).

The flashing process is as follows.

Get yourself onto stock Pie firmware, using Odin to flash the complete package. Before proceeding. Boot up and make sure you have OEM unlock switch and its activated.

    1. Boot into Download mode and Flash TWRP (Download) using Odin (use AP)
    2. Immediately boot into TWRP after flashing takes place, hold vol up and power.
    3. Format data partition (wipe/format data)
    4. Reboot recovery
    5. Copy WETA Kernel + Encryption disabler + Magisk zip to device. - (Download Kernel - Encryption disabler)
    6. Flash WETA Kernel + Encrypt disabler + Magisk zip.
    7. Boot up system, if it hangs on Samsung logo after 3min perform hard reboot.
    8. Connect to internet and go to dev settings and check oem unlock is present before any rebooting.

** Custom kernel is universal for all bootloader v4 firmware.

Post #2 has been updated with a new kernel installer. The issue with the old one is that the magisk environment needed to be present in data if the zip was going to work, and of course wiping data removed that. This zip works without Magisk environment.

I am new to Tab S4. Format data, what will be affected? Thanks
Formatting data , formats your data partition. So everything.
