I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910F; trltevzw; Bootloader:N910VVRU2BOG5; PDA:N910FXXU1DQJ1) on which I would like to install the TWRP recovery; I tried with Odin, but it is not possible (Fail-Auth) probably because my bootloader is locked.
How can I bypass the bootloader lock problem?

So if it says trltevzw it should be N910V.
I assume Verizon.
There's a special thread afaik for this cause of its specific problems.
Perhaps it works to autoroot first but I don't know.

Hya Gang... I have the SM-910P with the Q15 variant which is the last one Sprint put out over the air. Is there an advantage to updating to the last Bootloader/Modem (PK1)?

odin does not connect in download mode - i have 910v

however if i connect my phone via safe mode then it does connect with odin but then fails to update twrp. i tried update it in twrp but file N910VVRU2CQL1_N910VVRU2CQL1.tar was not recognized as an image (since the dl here is a tar)...help (currently on a older 3.0 vers of twrp...worried it might fail update lineage )...also im on stock rom

sort of a bummer because i must have had odin workign at 1 point on my windows 10 machine....since i rooted the phone last year....

Is USB debugging enabled in dev options?
What does "adb devices" give you when entered in terminal?
TWRP can either flash zip or img files.

it looks like the problem mayhave been usb cable/port - i managed to get odin to recognize the 910v - so big happy on that.

but i had to flash 6.0.1 oem android fw to re-write the system...fortunately it worked and got my phone back...however it's unrooted again...

i'll try the cf-autoroot file later today...but since i wrote over the system i may have killed to root...and it's a pain to root these verizon locked bootloader phones...like 27 steps lol

I haven't done this in a long time, but if I remember correctly there should be multiple "Region(s)", "CSC "and "Modem" in the N910FXXU1DRI2_N910FXXU1DRI1.tar (trlte) file? How do you choose which one to use (both how to, and which one to choose)? I used to have the NEE region and it have worked out well in the past.

Didn't download to test so I don't know which one of these it is.
There're for some devices two types of stock ROM files:
all-in- one file and mulitple part files.
I prefer the 2nd ones and download them using samfirm_reborn_0.3.6.3.

Fill in device name and region (look them up here: https://samfrew.com/)
Check "binary nature" and "decryption".
Results in one zip file containing at least AP, BL, CSC, CP.

Btw. my N900F is on official TWRP 3.6.2-9.0

I am getting error 1 in Twrp(3.22.0) on Note 4(910f) and it won’t install Linaege 18.1 !Do I need to update Twrp. I did try to flash a higher version but it fails for my 910F and it is for my version. I find 3.22.0 works best with old Note 4 .

As the name of the folder implies, the first code is that of the bootloader, the second of the modem. As they don't always match up in stock images, I matched them up myself for each variant. You can add it to whichever partition you want to in Odin, it will flash it properly based on the names of the subimages in the tar file.

This is all purely optional for those who care about revisions of bootloaders and modems. Using the ones flashed during stock updates will work as well with all custom roms.

As the name of this thread implies, the TWRP builds for trlte, tblte, and trlteduos are unified. I had no part in creating the sources for any individual variant TWRPs that may or may not still have official builds as of version 3.7.

@jindsony, use trlte for your Canadian variant.

I actually have researched the following, and I'm still without a definitive answer:
Can a 910T modem be flashed to a 910V _without_ also flashing a TMO BL(and re-locking the BL in the process)?
Odin won't flash either modem.bin, or modem.bin in a tar I created in linux per 'tar -H ustar -c modem.bin modem.tar'
'RQT_CLOSE'/'Operation Failed' in Odin, 'secure check fail: Modem' on the phone BL screen
I seem to be able to flash a modem.zip in twrp, no errors, but then the baseband version in phone info doesn't change.

I'm using the VZW phone w/ a TMB SIM, and I think the only way to get VoLTE, WiFi calling, etc. is with the most current TMB modem.

Has anyone ever successfully done a TMB--->VZW modem transplant on a Snapdragon Note 4?

I have a custom TMB 6.01 TW-Based(debloated, de-knoxed) ROM on one of my 910v's with VZW baseband, and 4G/LTE, VoLTE, etc works, but its pretty unstable. It loses 4g/LTE regularly, and takes a lot of random dickery to get it back (sometimes).
