App Install Method (Requires Root):
Download the TWRP Manager app:
Play Store
No Play Store? Find a direct download link at the bottom of this page.
Install the app and open it. Tap on Install TWRP. Select your device from the device list (ham) and then tap on Install Recovery. The file will download and be installed automatically.

Download Links:
Current and past versions of TWRP can be found at one of the mirrors below:
Primary (Recommended)

TWRP Install (Requires TWRP 2.8.4 or higher already installed):
Download the latest TWRP image file (.img) from the download link and boot TWRP. Go to install and find and select the Images... button. Browse to the image that you downloaded and select it. Choose recovery and swipe to flash.

Fastboot Install Method (No Root Required):
You will need the platform-tools from the Android SDK on your computer. Find the SDK Only section on the page linked and install the SDK and download only the platform-tools to get adb and fastboot binaries.

Windows users will need proper drivers installed on your computer. You can try the Naked ADB drivers or the Universal ADB drivers if you don't already have a working driver installed

On your device, go into Settings -> About and find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable developer settings. Press back and go into Developer Options and enable USB debugging. From your computer, open a command prompt and type:

adb reboot bootloader

You should now be in fastboot mode. Download the correct image file and copy the file into the same folder as your adb and fastboot binaries. Rename the image to twrp.img and type:

fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

fastboot reboot

Note many devices will replace your custom recovery automatically during first boot. To prevent this, use Google to find the proper key combo to enter recovery. After typing fastboot reboot, hold the key combo and boot to TWRP. Once TWRP is booted, TWRP will patch the stock ROM to prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP. If you don't follow this step, you will have to repeat the install.

When I flash TWRP recovery, my mobile doesn't go into recovery mode :(,
But when I restore stock recovery it works just fine.

Try downloading and flashing again. Are you flashing through Flashify app?

As well check if you have OEM unlocking ON, Update Cyanogen Recovery off and Android Debugging ON before flashing. Hope it helps.

hi , how to unlock the bootloader and install this version of TWRP ? because I 've never used fastboot and it makes me a little scared.
In the past I did it on my Galaxy S3 via ODIN but it is the great unknown .
Finding no real tutorial to the Z1 I find myself in a bind.
Cordially.

Hi,

I will try to help.

1. First activate your Developer options from About Phone clicking many times on Build number
2. Then go back to developer settings and do OEM Unlocking and give full Root Access. Switch on Android Debugging as well.
3. Go to security and allow Unknown Sources

Then probably the best way is to use this tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/development/win-zuk-z1-toolkit-0-1-alpha-t3235964

Or just download Flashify and flash downloaded twrp.img file from there.

This can help you as well:

if you don't wipe internal sd it will stay. check in titanium where is your backup, you can as well copy your backup folder to your computer to make sure you won't lose it.

Full Wipe:
Wipe Data
Format System
Format Cache
Format Dalvik Cache

I believe using flashify needs a source path which is not local to your phone.... I can only explain this to the best of my experience before.... I had a kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3C and this is where i have transferred the file to when i did flashify. Upon doing this without the removal of this after reboot, it succesfully installed. I hope i am making sense as i did have the previous problem as i paid for support for Flashify and nothing happened when the *.img was on the memory of my phone.... if anyone can explain better why this is that would be better....
